The numbers change a bit but not much. The risk of "blood clot" (not necessarily fatal) appears to be one in 60,000; the risk of "fatal blood clot" remains roughly two in a million (we've had ~1.5 million doses in Canada, we've had IIRC 3 or 4 deaths).

The situation remains, if you are over 30 years old and you live in an area with high transmission, if you have a choice of AstraZeneca now as opposed to having to wait more than a day for some other hypothetical zero-risk vaccine, you are better off getting the AstraZeneca now.

In Ontario as of tomorrow, anyone who was previously only eligible for AstraZeneca will then be eligible to get any of them, which makes this a moot point.

Main problem with AstraZeneca is that the supplier has been unreliable.
I still don't know why they completely avoid any separation of Covishield and AZ. From the ontario numbers (last updated May 1, see page 3 in link below), AZ appears to have the lowest risk of serious side effects of any option. Covishield is the shot off in the rhubarb statistically.

I’m glad some can find fun in the 4 people who died from the AZ:(:(

Let's not over react to this, but CDC's Wonder Data for Pfizer's COVID vaccine shows ...

Of course there are potential reactions to all vaccines in a small percentage of the population. Post the equivalent number of shots that those apply to as absolute numbers mean much less than rate. I still think the AZ fear is simple follow the money.

Also to the people who are flip flopping on the forum as Yes get the first shot you can to now oh it don’t matter we are running out of the AZ vaccine anyway. You only agree with what the media is feeding you and then come on the forum and spew it.

It shows that you are no more knowledgeable about these vaccines than the people you are disagreeing with.

Bingo.
Has anyone bothered to closely look at the side effects of the medication in their cabinet at home? Doubtful.

Wait until people google how potentially dangerous Tylenol is.

I'm booking a 2nd shot of AZ as soon as they make the remaining supply available for them. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Would everyone here consume something that can trigger asthma, can potentially aggravate congestive heart failure, can worsen hypertriglyceridemia, can cause or worsen insomina, can cause liver disease, typically depresses the central nervous system, and contains dihydrogen monoxide?

??

Beer. That's what beer does.....

You should avoid dihydrogen monoxide as much as possible.

Too bad we already have about 70% of that already in our body

It's in every common soft drink and 100% of people who have consumed dihydrogen monoxide in their life die.

And now it seems many in LTC died of dehydration and neglect , not covid. Therefore the death rate is significantly lower. But just keep listening to the "experts" this country is shockingly passive and accepting of people who have authority telling them anything and they believe it no matter what.

People should be in prison for this.

So, one week from tomorrow the lockdown is supposed to end...and still no announcement.

Restaurants and outdoor facilities are left hanging on whether to ramp up for the long weekend, or not. I think many/most have kinda come to accept that things are going to be extended (enough has been "leaked" now to suggest such, sarcasm intended) but one must wonder how long they're going to drag this on before making it official.

Considering the last time we came out of lockdown when restaurants and such were given, what was it, 24/36 hours before they could throw their doors open again, I can't believe they're dragging this on again.

If some stuff is going to open up again they need time to staff up again and order supplies, etc.

If not, lets just get that out of the way so they can stop guessing.

And for the love of god can we get some concrete numbers on which people can start to work with? What are the goals we need to see before things start to loosen, and what does that look like? Everyones just twisting in the breeze right now - I think most accept that we're in a "We gotta do what we gotta do" scenario right now, but having something to look forward to would be beneficial right now, and could even help people buckle down that little bit harder versus throwing their hands up in the air.

Yes .... and so should the people who continue to listen to the experts, spread fear , snitch on their neighbours , wear masks but no helmets while mountain biking, wear masks while driving alone , wear masks walking in the forest , wear gloves while touching everything including their face ,confront people who they disagree with in public and continue to enjoy lockdowns and restrictions.

But but but the Az was out saving grace to get us clear of covid

What happens to the people who took the AZ shot as the first one
JT is planning $100k in compensation to all that stepped up for the first round of AZ.
