Pan America

It's probably not a bad bike as far as "adv" bikes go. A little bit of John Deere tractor like performance is good for gravel roads. Dealer network for long distance travellers will be an asset.
But i can't get past the styling. Did a group of 15 year olds do this?

I thought this one was cancelled?

I thought they cancelled the bronx and the other one but this one was done so they decided to sell it and see what happened?

150hp for 20K? The iron-horse diehards should have their pitchforks out for that. To get there on their classic bikes, isn't that almost 20K in stage upgrades on-top of the bike price?

As for the design?

Tractor qualities work well for the Super Tenere. The looks of the HD are growing on me.

I’m more impressed with the 9k rpm limit.

I think its a nicely spec'ed bike and seems to check most of the boxes in that class. Still cant get past the front though.

"The looks of the HD are growing on me." - You mean like a fungus?

I think it's hideously ugly, bloated in appearance and maybe too late to the adventure party, but maybe not.

It looks very automotive to me, but that's probably intentional. They sure went to great lengths to differentiate it from their other offerings. I'm pleasantly shocked that they abandoned the belt drive for this one.

I hope it well built and well engineered so that they sell lots of them, and it convinces them that progress and modernity aren't evil.

I am looking forward to see what they put the engine in next though. Maybe a strait touring platform?

It would be an interesting experiment if it was a zero cost option on a touring platform. Are the HOG's willing to die on their sword and take the classic engine or do they want the new one? I suspect the old one sounds "better" but damn are you ever giving up a lot for that noise.

The Bronx was supposed to share the platform, but it seems to have been put on hold indefinitely.

And for what it's worth I still think they should have used the Street engine in a modern adventure chassis, with AND without high end suspension components, but with competitive build quality that meets the customers expectations.

There's less competition in the small displacement adventure or light explorer/standard market. Speaking for myself - I'm getting older and less enamored with the latest tech and baubles, as well as preferring a lighter bike, both attributes that should appeal to new riders and/or people coming back. I love my 1090 Adventure but a lower seat height, even sacrificing suspension travel and ground clearance would make me more eager to actually go exploring further off road.

I like the look of the bike, though I do have a tendency to like the ugly ducks of the bike world. Love BMW with their quirky weird headlight designs and love the look of this HD. I do wish they had gone with a shaft drive or at least a belt. Looks like it will be a great bike for touring on as well with an amazing, second to none, dealer network in N. America. I definitely will be looking for a test ride!

It seems like they could make a competitor to the 500X without a ton of effort. They'll probably sell the pig for a while and see if HD adv bikes have a chance before spinning up variations.

I like it. I do like Harley as a brand more then most around here though. I'd go for the all black, throw a exhaust on it and have a mad max kinda thing going on.

I'm more interested in what other models that engine goes into.

The front end reminds of the old SkiWhiz snowmobile made by, you guessed it Massey Ferguson the tractor people.

They're going to need more than Aquaman to save that thing from Shoe Guy's hatchet.

Woo hoo!
Now show us the aftermath.
