What makes you love your partner?

We both try. Stubbornness and ego are still issues for us occasionally lol
as long as you guys are talking then it should be OK. when you bottle **** up and don't get it out then it eats away at you and the relationship.

oh, oh, it's not suppose to be

You must be single ;)

Nope hitched after dating her for years..

But ... I didn't get the THIS IS THE LOVE OF MY LIFE CUDDLE ME LOVE ME blah blah blah
  1. She was someone I could deal with long term with the least amount of compromises and vice versa.
  2. I like how violent she is... She has given me multiple permanent scars as punishment for buying expensive stuff, alcohol withdrawal blah blah. This has lead to some pretty violent fighting too but overall it is smooth sailing as long as we keep each other in check...
  3. I have good feelings that she will be a good mom due to her personality. This was more important than her degree, drive to succeed or her potential salary in the future.
    1. Basically, kids >= career. You will sacrifice your career for the kids end of story

Before her I was heavily interested in six figure salary women with STEM degrees and super high drive to succeed. But then I thought what if kids come into play? Highly driven women may not want to have kids or they will prioritize career over kids.

?

It is a tough question.
My wife has asked twice in the last couple of months to find a "home" for her so that i can get on with my life.
NO!

Baha when she says stuff like this and won't stop then I kick her out of the house.

But she keeps coming back and this confuses me to no end

How the heck am I supposed to decipher when you are sarcastic and serious :sneaky:.........

So now I am like you. I just say NO and tell her I rather spend the $120k+ for a rental property than a place for her family + her to stay in..... I am no sugar daddy!!!!!

@Hack
Do you have a race (ethnicity) preference?

I was serious. She had a fall in 2017 that resulted in brain damage. Her condition has deteriorated from trouble walking, to using a walker and now to using an electric wheelchair.
Love is not complaining about having to deal with a commode that needs too be emptied.
We met in 1991 and have lived life fully. Not going to quit now.

That's so sad ?

My partner went through the same crap with me. I was broke and unable to afford medication to control my neurological issues many years ago. So I was self-medicating and blah blah blah. She still stuck around and made sure I didn't overdose, bite my tongue off etc etc.

I really think she deserves better but she keeps coming back ??

Entering our 41st year of marriage. The secret is we let each other enjoy our hobbies. I ride, she quilts. We are otherwise a team and we decide all major issues together and we support each other every day. She is my hero having volunteered for charity work over the years and last August came out of retirement (ICU nurse) to help out with the covid situation. A kind caring person and I love her very much.

Amen.

My fiancee (licensed Respiratory Therapist) quit her 'cushy' project management job to go work the front lines when COVID hit in Feb. Hero is exactly the right word.
