Anyone know how to fix motorcycle parts retail in Canada?

The problem is somebody in Canadian distribution seems bent on killing the Montesa product line in Canada and they are doing pretty good at it.

I would be pointing fingers at the Sherco guys. Just sayin'. :)

Because I live in ******* Canada! Plus it's an Italian manufactured product, why not order it from Mexico and pay for it in peso's.

Sherco, Scorpa, Vertigo, TRS, Montesa, OSSA and any other trials bike manufacturer all use this same fork on their top line competition motorcycles. It will fit right on to almost any one of those motorcycles :| It would fit right onto Wingboy's Beta too. Does this sound like a part that Honda Canada would be stuck with if they made any effort to stock them

Ya! Stop buying your imported parts from the USA, you're making their market look bigger and the Canadian market appear non-existent.

So buy it from somewhere else why give honda your money order from your trs dealer?

I already ordered the parts individually, that's why I'm now trying to get a whole fork, they can't or more accurately won't supply the parts.

You're reading too much into this. No malice intended on Honda Canada's part, they're just flat out incompetent. If the part is available from factory they can supply, usually within 3-4 weeks. Anyone that tells you otherwise is lying.
Right now my buddy's shop is waiting for a right side handlebar switch for a VFR800 and the aforementioned 300 Rebel clutch parts. In both instances Honda Canada said n/a. They are wrong, and definitely need some gentle persuading with an electric cattle prod to get their act together.

And I predicted this was going to happen when I heard that Honda was going to be selling Montesa through Honda dealers. Where did they put trials bikes when they had them for sale :/ they stuck them in random Honda dealerships that have no clue about the product and are located in areas where the sport was not even active! ... Somebody said they had 2 of them in Hamilton, oh goodie, you could buy one there to ride in one of the Hamilton area landfill sites.

Some people just don't get it :| If you are going to be a Honda Canada and don't care to promote or support your product, then get out of the exclusive distribution rights business and allow somebody to do it right, don't make ownership impossible.

Honda Canada lost their way a long time ago, they're driven (pun intended) by the automobile side of the business. Way back when they tried to combine cars with their other products in Powerhouse dealers. It didn't work then, it doesn't work now.

Good luck ordering parts for a Japanese motorcycle once the model has been out of production for 7+ years. If your bike needs anything special after that you better have one in your spares tool box.
My daughter can still order parts for her 1976 Yamaha ty175. Not everything, but essential carb stuff etc.

Same for my '85 FJ600, tons of stuff still readily available from Yamaha. Stuff like carb boots has been obsoleted but I was able to import a brand new set from Poland (!) Still a surprising amount of aftermarket support for the ol' UJMs, especially in Europe.

You seem to have picked the hardest possible way to get your wanted result.
Well of the 6 Montesa's I own or have owned and raced since 1976 I haven't found a good way yet, I'm open for suggestions.
At the moment for this problem Jitsie will be my best option  at least they know what a competition moto trials motorcycle is.
Honda I'm still waiting to see.

I think Trials cornflakes were a little salty this morning.
The only reason anyone sells trials bikes is because they have a connection with the sport. There is no money to be made.
No idea why Honda bought the name.
Trials isn't the only rider to have good riding areas. Hamilton and surrounding areas have awesome places. Just sayin.

Like next to the canal, rode there lots: Turn right at the old truck rim, over the huge concrete block with rebar sticking out of it, exit where the burned out car body is :| & watch out for the broken bottles. Place is awesome, they always have checkers.

Yamaha and Suzuki have always been pretty good support for "old" stuff.
Suzuki has been re-introducing part numbers for vintage. You can buy most popular parts for the popular GS bikes from the '70s and '80s.
Honda motorcycle parts are weird.

You could set up a decent trials practice track in your basement if you could put up with the fumes... or more to the point; if the wife would put up with it.

Very true. Electrics is changing things. A good friend in Oakville has a creekbed between his backyard and the homes on the other side. It's about 40'wide. Riding his Honda down there would get him a visit from the cops. He and his daughter ride his EM5.7 all day and are never bothered. My next trialer will be an EM for sure now that the range is good.

Has your current one had a chance to move yet?

Yay, Jitsie has a tube hopefully headed my way, plus some bushings. ( Jitsie is an itsie bitsie Belgian company  )
lol now watch Honda come up with one too, if they do I'm buying all the parts anyway, somebody will need them sooner or later and they aren't going to drop in price.

This is what Canada needs, itsie bitsie motorcycle parts companies that actually make stuff.
