WTF is going on with Motorcycle deaths?

It is very sad, and I had to watch some why we ride videos this week to re-evaluate the passion.

Not to imply anything, or ruffle feathers. However I know of 2-3 people who've sadly passed away in the last few months of various causes (non-moto related) In Canada and the UK, on all accounts the families said the medical teams almost had a vibe that they wanted the people deceased and offered little to no aid so not to burden the hospitals, a very weary feeling for them.

I read one that sounded like the rider rear ended a pickup or SUV..... Sounds like cagers and bikers are both not paying attention.

People are nuts on the road, the pandemic is making it a whole lot worse for speeders. I was heading south on Simcoe road towards Port Perry and this person behind me (car) was in such a hurry of some sort. Passed me, and was gone must have been doing 140-160 ish... nonsense.
Be safe out there!

Are people getting too used to the empty roads and getting more impatient?

Thats true, my wife always tells me about any motorcycle related accident/fatality. This season ive been hearing her alot lately, even with in Brampton area. Just sad how these accidents happen.

On another note, ive been seeing alot of cage accidents happening too, while roads are empty, makes me wonder what people actually do when they driving

Think it's just a numbers game. Saturday was a BEAUTIFUL day, which was undoubtedly responsible for the massive numbers of riders I saw in my neighborhood. I would have been out myself had I been able. I did drive my car somewhere, and I ended up with a big group ride tailing me for a bit. And I passed group rides going the other way.

So a bumper crop of riders, young and old, going out for one of their first rides of the season all on the same day? Yeah, can't say I'm surprised

I can hear that banshee wail of the sport bikes all day up here. Almost all of the deaths are sport bike riders. They're all pros don't cha know? If you told them to slow down they just laugh at you. After that, there's not much you can do.

The wife and I were out on the weekend and there was an insane amount of bikes. It was the only nice day in two weeks, so everyone seemed to get out while they could.
The crash in Bradford was not the riders fault but was a POS drunk driver.

Roads are quiet because contrary to popular belief a lot of people ARE still staying at home for lack of a job to go to, or much else to do.

Riders are going faster as a result and getting in over their head because there's not being slowed down by traffic that would normally be out there.

A lot of the popular motorcycle roads I've ridden in the last week or two (Lower Faraday, Northey's Bay, the 507 etc) were, come to think about it, mostly empty. One of the riders that lost their life on Saturday was on Northey's Bay - we'd ridden that exact road about a half hour before the accident happened - not one single car going either way the entire length of the road.

You don't want to know, but those are the one's you have to watch out for, basic distracted driver.

Something else to keep in mind is that there's probably a lot of riders who would normally only log 1000km in a season who suddenly find themselves with a ton of spare time and are spending it on 2 wheels, racking up miles (and therefore risk) at a far higher ratio than would be normal.

Face it, anyone with a motorcycle right now who is laid off work, well...chances are that bike is moving a lot more than usual.

wait til the weather behaves later this week...so much for not burdening the hospitals thos looks like that is not an issue at the moment
