and got the following response from what appears to be a vet:
Ummm. No. Proper NBC protocols require gloves. You do not know who has touched what. Gloves also allow you to ensure that when you return to your car that you have a higher level of confidence that the car interior is clear. Certainly wipes or gel would be useful but those are in short supply in certain areas.

We went to Costco yesterday. We wore our masks, gloves and eye protection. I also ran into another vet I know there and he was dressed the same. We spoke and he indicated that his approach was the same as mine. NBC protocols to safely operate in the environment.

For NBC, don't you need a hazmat suit?
Oh, last garbage day, which was very windy, there were lots of gloves thrown in the recycling bins, and blowing down the streets.

Like someone said here a long time ago . . . Peope are stupid.

More Covidiocy in QC? Three cell phone towers lit on fire.

What's the argument for 5G? The wavelength give flu like symptoms to old people and might kill them?

Heck do we even have 5G towers or test sites in Canada yet? Or is that too much of a critical thinking to ask that crowd?

At the store where my kids work,
if I see someone toss used gloves into the parking lot or entrance,
I'm going to consider which of their orifices I'd stuff them into.

Do people not know how to follow the whole protocol, if you're going to wear disposable gloves?

People are dumb.

Pretty much this. People think gloves somehow make them invincible even when they are apparently totally clueless about how cross contamination works. In many cases people are actually WORSE off by trying to use "magical force field gloves" because they think it gives them superpowers when in reality they're just spreading things more.

My wife uses the raw chicken analogy when talking to people about gloves. Treat everything you touch with gloves on that could be Covid+ like it's raw chicken. Once you've touched raw chicken with those gloves on would you then touch your face, nose, cellphone, car door, steering wheel, etc etc?

Most people get it at that point. Some still don't. Because magic.

"Appears to be a vet" probably answers the phone, IE, is the secretary.

There's a plethora of people pretending to have medical degrees right not on Facebook...but it's pretty hillarious when people start digging into their profiles (since so many people are dumb and leave them grossly exposed) and find out that their claims to "be in the medical field" ends up being "I'm a secretary for a dentist" and the like.

They weren't even 5G towers.

Some of these same people are probably sitting at home right now wondering why their 4G cellphone isn't working anymore.

People are ******* stupid.

Some people think that cell towers lower their property values, are unsightly, or make their homes less livable.
So, before we go charging off, blaming Trump and his followers, let's look for less complicated answers.

Might actually be a veteran, and not a veterinarian based upon what was said.

Can't see the NIMBYist crowd torching towers down...unless SJ warriors now have a militarized wing.

I've done basic NBC training and in my lab work I’ve made some extremely nasty things and had to wear gloves etc all the time. Chemical weapons can cross skin barriers, some isotopes can also damage cells under the skin. Covid 19 is effectively stopped via the skin barrier.

Sure, but it's a good cover story, if you ever wanted to. Just like some of the protestors and possibly blockcades on the C.N. Rail line weren't natives.

I didn't see any point in arguing with the guy. He was from the U.S. anyways, so I left it there.

Nothing to do with Trump.

Everything to do with batshit crazy.

Google the whole 5G thing. It ranges from "mind control" to "it spreads and controls Coronavirus" to "the wavelengths are going to damage your body and we will all have cancer/brain damage/whatever else they dream up in 5 years".

Skin barrier  you have hard solid surface for hands like Trump?
no pours in your skin, chemicals don't absorb into them, mean old virus will die a horrible death from the UV

Your skin is a very effective barrier to many nasty things. To cross the dermal barrier the substance needs to have special characteristics. That’s why you have specially formulated patches for eg nicotine or fentanyl to cross the dermal barrier. Those patches have another chemical on them, something like the solvent DMSO to help cross that barrier. You have another barrier called the blood brain barrier that does something similar to prevent toxins from crossing into the brain from your bloodstream. Evolution is a wonderful thing.

That’s good to know because I accidentally fell off the back wall of the swimming pool 2 days ago and had to slide across the top cover through all that green sludgy water to climb out . Fortunately for me, there’s no video evidence of the event .

Yes, I know my epithelia from my epidermis.

What is the largest organ in the human body?

The human hair is ~800 times greater in diameter then the dimension of a corona virus :|
Thousands of them could fit nicely into the pores of your skin.
