Does Oxford heated grips heat the entire diameter of the grip, or half? 3/4?

Quick Q about heated grip

I've got Koso Apollo heated grips sitting at home waiting to be installed. Much cleaner look as the button is built into the left grip as opposed to a separate unit you need to mount like the Oxfords. They're out of Quebec too.

Same as the Apollo one above, the switch is integrated with the left grip.
Can def recommend if you haven't bought yours yet. Wires are short so you gotta splice into headlight or drl.
I'd say it's not all the way around the circumstance but close enough. May y 7/8

I've never found this to be a factor. For instance, I rode today, -1°C for much of the way. Wearing regular MC gloves, not a fancy winter type, heated grips on max, hands were warm, never a thought for the backs of the hands. The very ends of the thumbs is the only area that gets cold. Everywhere else was toasty.

lol...my front signals are on when the bike is. So spliced into the power feed line.
I have wind deflectors, I add to the fairing in the colder months that direct the air flow just past the bar ends, so backs don't get hit as much with cold air. ....or get some hippo muffs.

This year was first time I tried heated grips and I can't believe I haven't tried them sooner. For me, when I do go riding, it's at least 2 hrs so worth it for me. With wind deflectors, they will help for sure. Going further, you can even get handlebar muffs. I bought really cheap ones and those do better than handguards, but with restricted movement.
I'd say 2hr labour sounds about right if it's first time doing something like this. It took me half a day but I was also changing to led signals while I was there. There's a bunch of YouTube videos.

These will make splicing much easier than soldering. Since it's winter, find them on eBay for a lot cheaper but longer shipping time. You probably won't be riding this time unless you're V-Tom.
One thing I don't know too much about is whether this type of splicing will be ok on motorcycle especially if you ride a lot in rain. For me I don't, but still wrapped them with electrical tape after splicing.

DONT BUY THOSE. I put those POS grips on one of my bikes, the throttle tubes are 2 pieces glued together. Mine decoupled, the throttle side grip slid straight off the bars.
That sounds fun.
I normally install the sticky grid style. The switch gets tucked up in the bodywork (normally switch arm vertically down). That protects it from most of the elements and eliminates ugliness. Very simple to reach down and flick the switch without looking (like in the old days of reserve switch).

Ever consider muffs instead of heated grips? They worked mint on my FZ6 in cold weather. No wiring - just tie them on and go. Now I have them on my sled. I can go sledding in -20 with gloves on.
Muffs are great, just be careful to install them correctly so they don't push on your clutch and more importantly brake.

I was walking my bike in the garage, the throttle tube separated and slipped off a I dumped her. I doubt it would happen while riding, but once it separated it was not a simple matter of sticking it back on- it was fooked. I'll show a pic later, but if you look at the throttle tube you will see it's 2 pieces glues together. The tube has a corrugated end that slides into the cable race -- the connection is made with hot glue.
