Body shops.....

im reluctantly posting this but.......

Taurus auto body use to be owned by Atlantic but they re branded it.
i had my vehicle in and out of there for 2 years. TD was my ins company at the time.

i was ripped off and scammed.
Adjuster was Joe...wont post his last name but he took cash kickbacks from the shop

drive by Lyons often and had no idea they were this bad, google reviews are appalling. $4000 a day for storage?? Wow.

My first career was autobody, it was a gong show then a many places. 50/50 shot at getting a shop that does nice, complete and honest work. They exist, but they are not everywhere.

To cut a long story short my Father in laws car was hit while sitting on the street.

Took it to a TD Insurance approved body shop. TD will only pay for used parts so he ended up paying for new ones out of pocket, however when he got the bill there were $700 of additional parts that were not on the original TD estimate.

So either TD are cheaping out and not fixing cars properly, or the bodyshop started gouging when he started to pay for parts him self.

They got really ****** when I asked for the old parts. I guess they though they could resell or reuse them

ran into the same issue with TD and used or aftermarket parts only. no new OEM.
part of the reason i had my grill and headlight fall off. one of my headlights i remember finding the seal was just held on with 2 sided tape.

lots of guys on here are happy with TD insurance but they screwed me on 2 non at fault claims. had to sell or trade both in when i got them back.

Shocked to hear that TD does that. Glad i didn't end up switching to them lol.

To get OEM parts you need the replacement value rider on your TD MM insurance policy. Otherwise they give you the cheapest crap they can find. I thought the rider just covered a written off car, but apparently not.

TDMM disappeared the rider on my policy and tried to give me chinese crap. After pushback, they did a call review, admitted it was their fault and gave me OEM parts. If I had gone to their preferred shop, I never would have known that they weren't using OEM parts. Shops that care for the win.
