Which generators?

Was at Costco, they have a bunch of 3000W Champion Inverters for under 900 bucks, they look great and great price.

Yeah, true. I'll be keeping my Honda, as it does manage to power two sets on the rare occasion that I need to power two.

Nobody's saying that the Honda or Yamaha aren't the most reliable however, if you need to choose a cheaper unit the Champion inverter is your best option.

If you don't have $2500 to drop on a 3000w Hondamaha then the $900 Champion would be an excellent choice.

If you run ethanol free fuel and do a yearly oil change you'll keep the maintanence issues to a minimum and this goes for every generator no matter what colour/brand it is.

Was at costo today and the Champion 3,250/4,000 watt generator is on sale for $350. Thats $90 off the regular price.

Not going to make many friends with that at the track unless you run a 100' cord...

-Honda EU 3000is $2549
58dBa at rated load
48dBa at 25% load

-Honda EU3000ik $2749
64dBa/57dBa 1.5 meter to 7 meter

- Champion 4000watt $350
68dBa from 7 meter

-matching yellow outdoor extension cord 100ft(30.5m) $94 at costco.lol

The difference with the honda EU 3000ik and the Champion is 11dBa at 7 meters. Not sure how load that is but I guess every dBa counts.

Just got a baffle for my exhaust, has anyone tried making a baffle for a generator?

Don't waste your time, I know people that have spent hundreds on getting pipes bent,,mufflers and it literally is no quieter.

Box your genny in on 3 sides and line the sides of the plywood with corrugated foam. Keep the plywood far enough from the genny to allow cool airflow. You can barely hear the genny this way.
