My bike got stolen while I was on vacation

Sorry to hear, I guess the scumbags are back already for the Spring..

that sucks monkey balls!!!!!!!

definitely keep an eye on Kijiji and the likes as they more than likely will try to sell it.
Notify the authorities of your VIN number to so if they try to register it , it will show up as stolen.

Thats a ****** card to be dealt! F@ckin scumbags.

I work in Thornhill and will be keeping an eye out for it. Sorry to hear. other than 22 customs sticker, blue levers and two bros pipe, anything else that can be used to distinguish the bike?

Sorry to hear that, hope you can recover it.
It says on your post that you had a security system installed: scorpio alarm system - I am newbie, so i hope you don't mind me asking how it works? Did it not alarm you that you bike was being stolen, etc.?

Damn... That's so close to where I live.... oh god

He was on vacation, even if he had of been notified, he was away on holidays. Even calling the police, they would have been gone with the bike.
Someone knew you were away on holidays.

It was already reported by my parents to the police last Saturday. Videos of the surveillance system is being extracted according to what my parents told me about their conversation with the maintenance people of the townhouse and the police.

Also, some other differences are the bar ends, catless (straight pipe) and the rim lip dents on the front and rear wheels. The exhaust was installed by previous owner. The upgrades I did were just frame sliders, blue levers, bar ends, scorpio alarm system and the sticker (thought it would add more hp to it... lol).

Why didn't you put a GPS tracker on that bike?

Maybe you should read what that thing actually does.... The GPS stops working when it's out of Bluetooth range.................... if you read the description of the product, that would be logical as well. Check out all the 1 star reviews for further info.

You can't afford $30?? Why would someone spent 5-7k on a bike and can't afford $30 to track their bike, sounds like you need to get your priorities straight.. Next time you buy a bike, save up and extra $30 to buy one of these things. If you didn't know they existed that would be more of a logical answer..

Yah... Sorry, I should've got that too or something like it. I did the most I can to secure it. But, it happened Thursday night or Friday while I was on vacation. I just got back last night (Sunday).

lol, don't apologize. You do what you can. I just got home from vacation on Saturday. I am always nervous about my bike, and I live in a house of my own! I unplug my garage door opener and lock the door, and leave a vehicle in there blocking it too... hide crap like my backup hard drive and stuff around my house. If I lived in Toronto, I would have to sit next to my bike 24/7 with a loaded shotgun just to be able to get through the day. :(

Lots of new riders posting here.. so here goes a quick summary:

1) Bike was probably stolen for parts.(For a track bike etc) You wont see the complete bike for sale on Kijiji
2) Bike possibly stolen for shipping to overseas destination. (ie. Burmuda and other Islands)
3) Theives have $20 GPS Signal jamers. GPS tracking not going to save you.

get YOUR facts straight before harping on this guy about cant afford it. That device is not a serious tracking device like lo-jack, or Scorpio RIDE

theives would have staked out the bike, prepped it.. It maybe checked for chains and alarms, and come back ready to act.
If you got back to each sprint and autumn, you will see dozens of similar posts here on GTAM and photos/video of bikes getting nicked. Cops tell people to use their insurance.

nope, it doesnt have to be like that as long as you're smart.

1) Make sure people don't tail you into your neighbourhood - Ie. some "good ole boys" in their pickup following you.. ;-)
2) dont advertise your bike.. ie. Have your garage doors up all day when you've got the bike in there.. see note above about "good old boys" checking out the hood.

3) Post photos and pics on public forums (facebook) of your bike at your address - especially with smartphones - GPS coordinates are saved in a lot of photos. ie. then post on facebook you're on Vacation.

haha, people on bikes can't even tail me into my neighbourhood :) But good tip on geotagging photos... either way, I am at way, way less risk than the poor shared parking folks in Toronto. Good luck in finding your ride, OP... but hopefully insurance gets you straight before riding season, either way!
