Was just riding around town to relax, going down the road normal speed and some idiot sling shots out of a small private mall, I honestly think my new tires and panic stop
practice likely saved a T bone, I put on the brakes on a slight diversion and came 4 feet from hitting.

I gave the usual finger salute and continued my ride, thought would shake me a bit but guess was another day in the cager world.
Be carefull as usual, thanks for reading. The only thing can say good about the cager he saw me at last second and also diverted car enough to stop an accident, they don't get much closer then that one for me knock on wood, riding the Sportster.

Sorry to say but near missis are the norm. Get used to it and everything you think could happen will. Yes, you are invisible. Be aware and take care.

I had a near miss last week. Some kid was looking right and forgot to look left. I slapped my balls off the fuel tank and learned how quick a front brake stops me. So want a vfr800 braking system now.

My Sportster brakes worked as designed otherwise would not be here to post, the car was doing the usual left super fast and not looking
out of a private driveway.

From what I gather you ride a Harley. Harley riders tend to spout the loud pipes save lives mantra. The remark was suggesting that you increase the sound of your pipe (remove the sound baffles) and live the mantra....

That explaination would of got me killed, if I had waisted "one" second to rev or more stupid to blow the" horn" I would of T boned, my post said was a panic stop not
a sunday school scenic tourist stop... there was only a split second left before impact... sorry if miss understood but seemed sarcastic all the same.

All the highvis gear and loud pipes won't prevent stupid.

Gotta ride like there is always someone coming out of a drive way or parking lot.

I've ridden down the highway and had a cage stopped at an intersection and waited until I was approaching before they decided to turn out in front of me. I swear I made eye contact. Even afterwards they still don't care. Like oh! Where did you come from? Stupid biker must have been speeding or something. Certainly not their fault!

Lost a riding buddy with 45 years experience perish from someone pulling out in front of him while on a country road. No chance. He was riding a touring bike with riding lamps. Lady couldn't see over the steering wheel. Charges laid for careless causing death but pleaded to something less. No one wants a little old lady going to jail.

Some people, right? I saw a woman drive out of a mall and stop at the end of a 3 lane to merge with the opposite side traffic and she basically blocked oncoming traffic just to not have to wait as long. People honked and she just flipped them off.

Sorry about your friend, could of easily been done for yesterday, not much chance when someone flys out of a parking lot, it was obvious they did not look because they just blindly
shot out with no regard to safety, could of easily been a kid riding a bycycle. I ride defence but some things you just can't predict and the driveway was partly blocked from my perspective.

Sorry about your buddy. Obviously experience counts for something but, to a not insignificant degree, as street riders the clock goes back to zero every time you pull out of the driveway. A healthy dose of denial is required to participate in this hobby and many facets of life. I always wonder about that when I step on an ant, as in, really what's the difference?

I saw a flashing LED light on one of a group of bicycle riders out in the boondocks. Bright white mounted to the front. It caught my attention like nothing that's ever caught my attention.

Cept my idiot just decided to cross ....sometimes even eye contact doesn't help - I swear they panic trying to deal with something that looks like it should fall over...

Don't make a post about something that happens every day, then then act like an A hole after when someone make s a legitimate comment. Your bike is slow, heavy and has equivalent braking power to a Ninja 300 lawnmower... Now make me a big long reply that is rude, because that's clearly what your purpose on this forum is.

You obviously don't know how to ride even your grandmothers moped, if these close calls happen to you everyday then you don't know how to ride ****.

Now get your kissing cousin to make another sarcastic remark. As for my bike not stopping your full of BS it stopped faster then any crap sport bike.
