Harley Livewire Electric Motorcycle

Re: Remember when the v-rod was not a real Harley ... ?

It will likely outperform most of their current (pun) lineup.

Re: Remember when the v-rod was not a real Harley ... ?

Shocking.

Re: Remember when the v-rod was not a real Harley ... ?

How will it sound? Can you install straight capacitors? What's the noisiest VFD available?

Official launch is today. Harley really wants to break away from their traditional core consumers and this could be a game changer.

My friend Eddy Current just ordered one :) but seriously unless this is a practical joke don't think will fly...a Harley is a Harley, just as a Ducati is a Ducati.. I like some noise just so we can be noticed for traffic safety.."ride to live Electric" yup sounds good.

I love the design and the sound, although i'm a little skeptical about the final product actually sounding like that.

I like that a lot.

It's no joke. And Harley is looking to advance their brand with innovation. Balancing old and new.

Heck if the machine can achieve a decent range like the 48. Lol. It just might do well.

I'm skeptical about battery power anything with the cost of electricity rising and the need for continuos charging. Still think fossil fuel makes economic and convenient sense.

The profile is a great, modern, cafe racer look (to me) and I (can't believe I'm saying this) like it. Head on, meh. I applaud HD for moving on this, although I can't believe they were able to convince themselves to do it (although when they moved with the Porsche designed V-Rod engine, I guess the writing was on the wall).

I can't wait to see a 1%er sporting a full patch on one. :lmao:

Thank you for posting that it was funny. I had already seen the (original) clip and didn't click on the one in this thread but your comment got me curious.

I've just finished cleaning up the coffee I spat all over the counter... and I'm still laughing.

Its a bold move, something not expected from Harley. Finally a Harley that hipster tree huggers can embrace.

The style is good and for city commutes is perfect. Until a bike can commit to 200km/day highway, or have fuel cell swap stations. I have to stick with my dino fuelled bikes. I wish manufacturers would just get together come up with a standard fuel cell dimensions and specs, then this could be reality. Same goes for car manufacturers, but its clear nobody cares about the world, only making more money.

At the current cost premium of EV vehicles, yea, fossil fuels still make more sense. But once these EVs reach price parity with their gasoline counterparts, there is no way electricty will be as expensive as gas, at least not for a good long time.
