I think they raised it recently.

I got out of three speeding tickets because of it, I think it was more expensive for me, but in the end it's a non-moving violation, no points. *shrug*

Primarily an issue for people who don't want the looks of their vehicle 'spoiled' by the front plate.

Despite all the justifications about cost to the province, bumper damage, aerodynamics and fuel economy (come on!), aesthetics is basically what it boils down to.
