Mv agusta owners

Service is every 6K, and as you can imagine, parts are pricier than Japanese bikes. A decent idea of prices can be found here: http://www.evolutionbike.it/mvagustastore/

Every 6k is just the regular service (oil change and checking a few items), major service is at 12k (valves). Parts are about the same as Ducati, if not less.

here is the manual: page 124

http://www.mv-agusta.es/MANUALES/F3/F3 675/12.-Owner_USA_F3_675.pdf

I get my parts from

http://www.designcorse.com/

or

http://www.startwintrading.com/

My bike is at 13600kms and 0 issues with it.

Thanks for the info. :)

I guess if you want an Italian bike you have to expect higher parts costs and perhaps some more frequent maintenance intervals than a Japanese bike.

Also owning a mv agusta. .u stand out from others...Forza Mv

I have been looking for them while I drive my bus. I have seen one MV, one Aprillia, a few Ducatis and (of course) a myriad of nice Japanese bikes. Saw a really nice Thruxton last week in uptown Waterloo.

Yup, the MV Agusta is a little off the beaten path.

Royal distributing has brand new 2011's brutale 1090r for 12800..no freight pdi, and pay upto 2000 for insurance. And 2011 f4rr for 18995 not sure if there offering that anymore.but royal doesn't take trade ins. Which sucks

Royal has a few 2011 F4's left for $17000 on that same promo, have a 2011 990r left as well.

Just rolled over 19000 kms in over a year and a bit with no major issues.
The 12000 kms full service at dealer ran me $950.
At the rate I'm riding I'll be doing another full service this year at 24000 kms.
If you ride close to 12k kms a year budget at least $2000 a year for one oil change and one major service, plus around $400 for a set of tires.

And only use premium Shell V-power gas, absolutely no ethanol in the tank at any time. I can feel the difference when I use any other gas.

OEM parts aren't cheap, and aftermarket stuff rare and expensive. Not a lot of incentive for manufacters to make parts for bikes that don't have a lot of market share. Your typical European brands are out there: Rizoma, Motocorse, Ohlins, Bitubo.....but you won't find much else, and I wouldn't buy anything off eBay on the cheap.

Goodluck.

Edit: spelling and miss a word.

Wow,

Thanks for all the feedback and ownership experiences. 10-4 on the Shell V-Power 94. It is all I use in my old bike. Carbs and ethanol does not really work well together.

I'm in for a MV ride. F4 (in Mississauga) and two other friends also own F4s

What did the dealer do for a thousand dollars??

Oil change and oil filter. Full synthetic and the filter wasn't cheap either.
Install new air filter, not OEM, racing filter from MV Corse.
Bled brake lines.
Full valve adjustments.
Chain adjustment. At that time I didn't have a 55mm socket. And good luck finding one in store. Had to drive to Uxbridge to a farm supply store (TSC) to buy one ($25) which I left with my new mechanic.

Price included tax, parts, and labour.
Bench rate is industry standard. It was the parts that cost a lot.

I didn't blink at the bill. I knew going into the bike that this was the cost of buying a boutique Italian brand.

You do realize that your next service is at 7000 kms right? You will get a service reminder countdown on the dash starting with 1000 kms to go.

Was that a "valve adjustment" or a "valve check"? Big difference. If the motor needed shims swapped,i'd be surprised.

You can adjust the chain yourself without requiring that socket. Its the pinch bolts which are hex head that need to be loosened.

Ride Motorcycles (no longer existing) I bought the bike there and wanted sales and service under one roof. Oh well. No biggie. I got leads for future services.
