The Epic Split feat. Van Damme

People who have never backed up a trailer have no clue just how difficult it is to keep a tractor trailer going backwards in a perfectly straight line.

For most maintaining the trailer straight line means lots of tractor see sawing back and fourth...

Incredible, Bravo to those drivers.

Unless you filmed it going forward and played it back in reverse.... :rolleyes:

Agree with you. Anything with more than 4 wheels is a challenge for most people. Yet alone a trailer... :sad3:

Naah, The whole point of the video is Volvo Dynamic Assist, filming it and playing it backwards would nullify the seen benefits, Volvo would have nothing to gain and everything to loose by cheating.

Go check out their other Volvo videos....the tightrope between two trucks etc etc.

EDIT: I just watched the Youtube video where someone plays it backwards. Its not fake, you can see by his body movements and eye blinking that its real once you see the video played backwards

It's also safer for JCVD going in reverse. A lot less risk of being run over if something were to go wrong
 
Someone has suggested a theory about a rope in Van Damme's pants.
It's a safety thing in case if he looses the grip and falls in. It's hidden to the viewers but indeed runs inside from one foot to the other, while secured to each truck's mirror. If worse was to happen it would catch him and left hanging upside down between the cabins.
 
It's been confirmed by both Volvo and JCVD that there was a hidden rope attached to him from behind in case he fell. A rep from Volvo said "We don't want to be responsible for killing the muscles from brussels!"
 
Even with a rope attached, still pretty badass! You won't see me doing anything like that ever! GJ JCVD!
