yellow duck, i catch up to you around 6:50

wall pass was around 7:55
good pass, nothing to apologize for, its good practice for a yellow rider to be passed that close. Nice riding yellow duck, like me turn 9 needs work, i always **** that one up. I need to remember less entry speed = more exit speed, specially on that corner

Here's the turn 9 incident. Unfortunately I had the camera on the tail so you don't see the whole thing, but from the trajectories of the two bikes it is no mystery what happened. If the fellow on the red bike hadn't elected to ride off it would have been a bad day for both of them (maybe all three of us).

Hey Mike welcome to the forum! It was great meeting you guys yesterday. Love your bike and also the way you ride. I have forgotten the name of your friend on the red Honda (maybe he is 'bigcat' above?) but he was doing great too, considering it was his first time in the intermediate group.

That was infact me on the red Honda. I never caught your first name, mines Ryan. I felt like Saturday was a good day, I'm glad I could finally get some heat into my DOTs. I was hoping for 1:27 but left with 1:28.1. But like you told me wining the trackday is bringing your bike and your self home in one piece. I just pray that I can get one more during Thanksgiving.

Guy on #11 and I have had some fun little battles on previous track days (wasn't at this one). Too bad he got stuck and had to exit the track due to a rider who blatantly, intentionally and repeatedly breaks track rules (wheelies) and shows poor track etiquette (straight line hero).
Technically it wasn't against the rules that day as there was NO mention about any wheelies at the riders meeting. If it was against the rules or causing problems I'm sure they woulda black flagged me as I wheelie past both to and from the marshal station at turn 6 every lap :D. My bike was way more wheelie happy than normal due to the MR12 and it just put a smile on my face holding it inches off the ground especially in 3rd gear :D

Wait, lol, didn't know power wheelies exiting a corner are against the track rules... for what it's worth, I personally never felt endangered or bothered by hpvchewy. I've been on the track in close proximity to him many times spanning a few days this summer, and we also had some exciting "battles" too--passing each other and such. I still remember one particular occasion when I passed him coming into T2 and had such incredible speed that he told me later he thought I was gonna crash in T3 as it looked to him I'm beyond max lean angle, which did seem so after reviewing the video later. I understand #11's disappointment completely with having to come off the track to generate a gap, but I also think the "useless wheelies and didn't want to pass because of your lines" is an extreme exaggeration. Anyways...carry on now.
Yeah, we've had some great battles on the track, we'll for sure have to try and stage together next time, although I noticed the track entrance marshal purposely watch for people battling on the track, and delay one of their entrances onto the track (if they staged together). Generally wheelies are frowned upon in any group but red/advanced group, at least that's how it was at Shannonville and with the Racer5 run days at TMP. At least everyone knows, when my front wheel is in the air, I ain't going to be making any sudden line changes ;)

I'm pretty sure he was flagged last year for wheelies. I know they're not stand up wheelies but he seems to be the only guy doing them down the straight. Also in terms of extreme exaggeration my friend who pulled off and on again put down a 1:21 after being behind Sir. Jamie. He knows how to pass, pulling off was the better choice. Again not trying to be rude and hopefully Thanksgiving weekend has some nice weather for us :)
I've seen him ride, he's way faster in the corners than me, and much better on the brakes too. My best is a 1:24 and was doing 1:28's yesturday. He was probably more worried about ME than him, as far as passing goes, I'm sure he coulda done it with ease. And when I'm passed I NEVER overtake the same bike on the next straight, ever.

I was blacked flagged last year by Racer5, Fawaz wasn't sure why but I did bounce a pretty big wheelie on the front straight when I quick shifted right as my tire was coming down (from 2nd to 3rd). If I time it wrong, or hit the limiter during the wheelie in 2nd gear then kick it to 3rd, it'll bounce the front and do a big mostly unintentional wheelie. I think Fawaz told me to not take off so fast at track entrance (I love/loved spinning my tire over the bump at track entrance and smoking it up until it grips into a wheelie, but I don't do that anymore, too unpredictable and the track organizers never like it).

Im #11 and i didnt feel he was dangerous, i got off because i cant catch a 1000 on a straight, and i would be stuck behind him in the corners and when i did get a chance he would give it in the straights, i understand power wheelies but not all the time.
Thanks man :) Your bike is pretty and you ride just as nice. Always feel free to show me a wheel under braking and I'll for sure let you by on the next straight ;) Hopefully you pass me next time so I can learn a line or two before you disappear :D

Looks like a great pass! I don't mind close, as long as they ain't close in/near the corners ;)

Ha ha, that camera angle is whacked! Where did you have it mounted?

Pass was no problem Nick. It would have been fun to reach over with my clutch hand and hit your kill switch....

Great video man!!! That was an insane pass, and turn 9 is so sharp!! yikes. Glad everyone made it out safe.

That pass is really not cool. It`s called a track day not a race day. It`s good you and the other guy were ok.

anyone take photos of the day?
Which group were ya in?

There was a guy with a big lens there, I got his flickr address and I have it on alert so the moment he posts the pics I'll paste the link here.

My friend took a few pics of intermediate group, and I took a few pics of beginner.

any beginner group pics?
thanks

You clearly know it's frowned upon at track days.

That's not a power wheelie. You're sitting up, and the wheel is high enough that you're not maximizing acceleration.

Of course not, too busy doing time wasting wheelies :p Stop doing these so called power wheelies and you'll improve your lap times.

Racer5 hasn't been to TMP in 2 years, since SOAR stopped racing there. Were you at Grand Bend? There's no show-off front straight at GBR.

I think Racer5 was at TMP once last year on a non race wknd.... maybe that was the year before.

I think that was the year before, the year that SOAR had to cancel at TMP and move the race rounds to GBR. I'm not totally sure either, but I'm sure about those wheelies. haha...

He's an expert now.... and all his "help" is greatly appreciated by his minions. So be it.

According to that you're faster than I am at TMP. You'd better come into the red group at GBR this Thursday and play :)

I would love to, but I'm on nights this week so i can't :(

Next season it is on like donkey kong dave :P
