TMP Saturday Sept 28!!! WHO'S IN?!

They just dropped it off not too long ago, it is not as bad as he was thinking....The worst part is the bent frame slider bolt, that is going to take the most time to remove without damaging his frame/engine.....Other then that , gauges are missing, someone took the clutch lever off and put it on backwards WTF?, Also the stock exhaust is barely hanging onto the bike, handle bar/bars or possibly triple looks bent, ram air/gauge stay exploded, and obviously %90 of the fairings are trashed...All that said the bikes chassis and engine are good to go, and I dont think he even bent a wheel or rearset. So the bike is very fixable

Good stuff man!!!

I can't wait to see this bike today!!!

thank you for your help!!

lol. The insurance company said they weren't going to cover the replacement cost of his Pazzo levers so they said we could remove them if we replaced them with the stock levers. We told them we didn't have the stock levers so they said "any levers, just leave them with the bike". The levers on it now are from a 2000 ZX6R and obviously don't fit :D He has the pazzo's that came off it ready to drop off to you to re-install, they fit perfectly :D

Same deal with the exhaust. They weren't going to cover his Leo Vince 3/4 system so we had to rip it off and put the factory one in it's place. We couldn't get the catalytic and stock muffler to line up so that's why they are just hanging there. He will have you ditch the catalytic and install his Danmoto midpipe and re-use the stock muffler, should fit perfectly.

We found the gauge cluster in the middle of the farmers field where he crashed (they were just about the cut the corn so we saved it for sure!!) but it was completely full of water. He took it apart and cleaned/dried it out so we'll see if it still works. He also has the entire replacement fairing stay and ram air assembly but no screws or grommets.

I heard his brake caliper/lines/master are OK, that's awesome :)

Yeah, I figure at least a clipon is bent. We have a replacement throttle tube we'd like to install (it has a R6 throttle tube now which sticks sometimes, not fun).

Thanks again for the great work JohnnyP636, I'll see ya around 6pm tonight.

Lines got a little mangled, but mostly the black plastic covering....They should still be usable, we will know for sure once we bleed the brakes. Right now he has no pressure as the banjo bolt on the right caliper came loose

There's a thing called "pming".

Considering he started the thread, and he brought up the bike...... IMO its his choice where the topic of this tread goes...Don't like it? Maybe start your own thread and keep that one on your topic of choice.......There is also the option to block certain peoples posts if you feel like you dont want to read what they are posting...

A while ago on here someone posted about a spark plug snapping in the head, he took that bike to Pro6....Ryan said that he had to take the head off to fix it, and he said that he believes that the cause was someone left race fuel in the bike....It corroded the plating on the plugs and caused them to seize in the head. So he also recommends putting anti sieze on the threads of your plugs. As it also eats away at plugs

Unfortunately, that guy was me. So yes... if you run race gas, it might be a good idea to make sure you have a bit of anti seize on the plugs.

On the bright side, having the motor open was an excuse to freshen up the motor, valve job, degree the cams, etc. Bike is running strong now :)

Just put on a R6 throttle tube for my zx6r.

New parts always makes my track day better :)

LOL! We just took the R6 tube off his ZX6R and put his stock back on.

The problem was if you pushed the throttle PAST closed, it'd still go a bit then STICK there :( Stock throttle tube works flawless of course now. So just be careful when rolling off the throttle, if you roll off too far it'll go past "zero" and stick there :(

Did you guys adjust the cable tension? I noticed it at first when I installed the tube, but playing with the tension I was able to the same 'feel' as the stock Kawi one

I'm bringing my stock one just incase I have any issues.

It was installed by the previous owner, so we didn't try very hard messing with the cable adjustments to try and solve it.

Great weather today and plenty of fun, but the track wasn't in great shape (old oil from cars everywhere, and then a crash left more oil in 4). Kinda crashy in intermediate group, but no serious injuries. We still got 7 sessions in.

TMP is getting more serious about how they run their days. Much better riders' meeting (run by Dave Buckland) and pretty thorough tech (also by Dave).

Depends on who's running the day I find. Never had a problem with GWB, and I find them to run one of the most thoroughly tech inspections I've ever experienced. The rider's meeting are also probably the longest and most thorough of any TD org I've ever been to.

The days run by independantly by TMP, I just LOL

Today was run by TMP. However, as YellowDuck said, Dave Buckland ran both tech and rider's meeting, and it was thorough! He also did it on the previous ran by TMP day about two weeks ago.
