Just wondering what people do after a track day. Is it recommended that we re-flush/re-fill/re-bleed the system with regular coolant again? Or would running water+water wetter suffice for the rest of the season until storage time?

Thanks

Your good to run water w water wetter on the street. Just remember though if you ride late in the season, it offers zero freezing protection.

run it all season, just add anti-freeze beofre winter, flush well next spring, repeat

Do some of you guys never run coolant at all during the summer? Also to add the Anti-Freeze for the winter what would be the best method of measuring it in...? I'm assuming the resovoir would be full.

Nope. Just run water w water wetter for entire riding season.

When its time you can dump some of the water out, and replace it with antifreeze. Or just leave your cooling system empty over the winter.

Hmm thanks for this.. I'm overdue for a coolant flush anyway. This might work out better and then there'll be less track prep.

Any harm in keeping the rad empty all winter long? Sounds like a great idea.. that'll force me to have to re-flush the system at least once per year.

I do it, but others will say it dry out your seals.

Again, its a discussion like " whats the best oil for my bike" .. everyone will have their own thoughts on it.

I do it too, mostly because i'm lazy

Just talking to a buddy of mine and he brought up a good point that by filling it with coolant over the winter, not only does it protect seals but we'll be able to ride it in early Spring (those days where it's -10 during the night and +10 during the day).
