they use to have 1 HID bulb with a magnetic base that flipped high low brightness. i had it in my harley.

Do yourself and everyone else a favour and install a true projector and HID combo instead of HIDs only. I know i speak from experience. As much as i wanted to think that my HIDs in halogen housing werent blinding people, the difference was night and day vs an actual projector retrofit.
They have turned into plug and play units now-a-days and are easy to do.

Those projectors work wonders on motorcycles, You can see everything in your corner (Up to 20' in front of you), Its not like you should be looking deep into your corner or anything.......

Why? New cars with projectors dont have self leveling housings....It is not a rule. That was done in the beginning of 2000s when Xenons first came on the market and some companies still used reflective housings instead of projectors. My dads Volvo S60 has self leveling but its also used as high beam, the entire reflector tilts for high beam instead of firing up another lightbulb.
TSX's headlights are not self leveling, nor S2000. Guess those are the "****" cars with "cheap" projectors huh?
regarding the cutoff. Simple solution. get the high/low beam version of the projector. That way when you go into the corner you can switch your headlight to high beam and the cutoff is moved out of the way. Thats what i did with my GSXR's headlight.
First most cars don't lean like a motorcycle does and have the cutoff work against you.
And so what your saying is it is better and less blinding to oncoming traffic to use projector high beams in the corners then HID's in the OEM housing?

I have yet to see the OEM halogen setup generate more light then HID's (Unless you are talking about the coated halogen bulbs).
That's like saying in most cases a 250 will beat a 600SS......
His point is the OEM lenses are not designed for HID intensity or brightness.

U sure? I'm not but I thought US(canada gets the same) required all HIDs to have auto leveling. It was a condition to allow them. Maybe the S2000 had halogen projectors and people put HIDs in them.
Some reflectors might look like they are HID but they actually are HIRs.

no its not a rule, but a lot of cars either have levelling and turning headlights, or levelling rear suspension when the oem HIDs are on it from factory.
the 03 G35 came with HID's and no projectors though.
That's gotta be a record

I just ordered a set today and it said expected delivery was 2-3 days? lol. They must be shipping em crazy express, no idea how they could do it for that price! lol. I'll only be installing "half" of the HID kit, to match up with a kit already installed in the low beam side (bike already has projectors). Hopefully I got the bulb colour correct (I think the existing one is 6000k but it looks pretty damn blue, might be 8000k

Who needs projectors with a 100 watt HID kit?? I have a pic of them installed, but can't post it
The Start-up on those would melt wires lol.
The start-up Amps on the 35W are about 6A, so it would be pulling about 18A on start-up

Even for 55 watt you should run a separate wiring harness. The 100watt harness uses 10 gauge power wires to each ballast, dual 40 amp time delay relays connected straight to the battery. After you start the bike, 20 seconds later the first HID kicks on, then 20 seconds after that the second HID fires up. Only thing you gotta watch is melting your headlight lens
