I don't remember seeing that before, but I may not have been paying attention to the electronic signs which usually tell me to get off the phone, fasten my seatbelt and put my beer down.

Is this a new thing because of the spate of accidents? Or just a routine sign rotation? It was up all day today.

I see it every few days, its definitely just part of the cycle during summer as i've seen it on display for the past 3 or 4 summers.

sometimes the sign will say "give extra space to motorcycles..." but the ******** still don't let us drive in the HOV lanes

They're just there to raise driver awareness. They want to make sure that since you're going take out a motorcyclist anyway, at least look in your mirrors to time the impact properly.

Saw it at noon on Friday driving west on 401-E and again much later around 7-8 PM driving east on 401-E. More than 1 board had it up.

usually west bound/eastbound or north bound/south bound boards will have the same message. (Usually!)

I think every single car driver should know how to ride a motorcycle, and get the experience on riding on hwy/streets. This way a person will have a knowledge and understanding, what riders go through when there's a car changing lane without checking the blind spot and mirrors.
Texting while driving? I know I stopped when started riding myself. We're negligent until we're in the situation.
