jp636 may have better images, but i actually did to both side of my face, what he did to one, along with a lot more....

I didn't post to win a prize for my injuries, just sharing my experience. Like someone posted if you survive then everyones a winner. They told me I was lucky to be walking, so to be able to ride still is a big plus.

Although I don't understand what your saying about one side of my face, I did get hit on the left side but as you can see in the pics the damage was spread across my face pretty evenly. In fact my right eye got damaged even thou I was hit on the left, and both my eye sockets had to be rebuilt with titanium, also both my cheek bones cracked in half on both sides. And my implants are positioned at about 60% left %40 right, so again its not like just the one side of my skull was affected.

The only thing I think I can say I won was the battle to live, for a solid week I was pretty sure I was going to die.

The only reason I even have those pictures is because my plastic surgeon said I seemed like I wasn't happy with the outcome, as I was a little depressed obviously. He urged me to go and order the pics, as at that time I had no idea there was that much titanium implants in my face. He told me that the outcome was better then he could have expected, and that I have to really understand how bad my injury was to appreciate the outcome. He has been doing plastic surgery for 20 years, and said my surgery was the worst facial injury he has seen in 10+ years. He said they haven't seen anything that bad since before cars came with seat belts. So maybe give that big win to health care for todays surgical technology. I know for sure if I stayed in Jamaica I would have died, and same goes for a lot of other places in the world that just aren't equipped to deal with these kinds of injuries. Not to mention the cost! I was told if it wasn't for OHIP I would be in for roughly $750,000 in surgery and medical costs.

I had more laser surgery on it yesterday
And I lost my sense of smell due to the damage to my face killing the nerves that create smell

Was it you that I saw talking to Vanessa (about this accident) at Kahuna about 7 months ago? I was there and I heard a guy was telling her the story of what happened to him. I don't exactly remember the detail but I think the guy was pushing his bike when he got hit on his face and he wasn't wearing helmet.

When I heard that I was thinking this guy was very lucky to be alive and I didn't see anything wrong with his face so his doctor had done a great job.
