Squid:

The origin of the term squid is ambiguous. It is commonly said to be a contraction of squirrely and kid, or less commonly, squished and kid. It might also have something to do with the appearance of a lightly-clothed person who has fallen off their bike and slid chaotically down the road; the resultant injuries may make the unfortunate motorcyclist resemble an amorphous tentacled creature.
Squid is also described occasionally as an acronym, although these are likely backronyms.

"Stupidly Quick, Underdressed, Ignorant and Dangerous"
"Stupidly Quick, Underdressed and Imminently Dead"
"Super Quick Until I Die"
"Speeding Quickly Until I Die"

Another possibility is that the term originally referred to newly-inducted sailors based in San Diego in the 1960s, who sometimes used inexpensive two-stroke motorcycles for transportation. The term could have originally referred to these unprotected, inexperienced "marine life" moving through traffic rapidly and leaving a trail of black "ink" (the characteristic dark colored two-stroke exhaust) behind. Squid was also a more general derogatory term for sailors of this time.
Motorcyclists will often note similarities between how a squid rides and the manner in which a squid swims. Squids may appear unable to change direction while swimming without first coming to a near stop, but then accelerate very rapidly. Beginning motorcyclists may often experience difficulty negotiating turns at normal rates of speed, but have a tendency to ride very fast on straight sections of road.

That was a fantastic and educational write up on squid! The history lesson about the sailors was pretty neat, I've never heard anything about that before.

Great job

D0uche vest - A piece of protective riding gear designed to provide spine and/or chest protection and worn as a vest. Intended to be worn beneath a jacket to supplement existing protective gear. This vest becomes a "d0uche" vest only when worn without a jacket and/or when an established d0uche occupies it. Wearing the vest with a tank top or sleeveless shirt elevates the occupant from d0uche to fool and is often the subject of ridicule, especially from other motorcycle riders.

I never understand why people care so much about what others wear. The only people I make sure that has gear are my friends. Strangers can whatever they please.

^ +1 exactly, wear whatever you want

'Squid' also refers to a real squid because when they fall on the pavement they make a big mess like a real squid splash

I agree. The post was a joke... sort of :D. OP did ask for definitions!

Really? do we need to start a thread like this? As if we need more reasons to be judgemental.

A biker is a biker is a biker.

Sheesh... fun patrol over here. Getting back on topic. Here's another term:

I've got one of these vests. Works great on a stupid hot day. I'd never wear just a tee with it though. But yes, it won't save much.
