Help me choose a bike!

Pretty close, check out page 7 for a list of the fastest bikes.
Ahhh, hard to look at all those numbers :) I didn't know S1000 was on the list, otherwise I woulda looked harder ;)

I'll have to put S1000RR on my shopping list :D

I did get an offer of a supercharger if I did a bunch of website work for them. 210hp on pump gas or 250hp on E85.... so tempting ;)

what i ment to say is that something with not too much power to kill me if i make a mistake.
ive read that some bikes are more forgiving then others so something like a 600 or 1000 cc is not going to be very friendly.

If u are travelling on a residential street at the stated 40k/h limit and u make a 'mistake' and hit a schoolbus head on. There is a very low chance u will survive the crash. So, just a suggestion, there is no safer bike ..u can be a safer rider by devevloping better riding skills and defensive riding techniques. And just about most rider agree, the best bikes to start with had already been mentioned on that sticky post.

Somehow every year there is a whole bunch of people who make a new thread saying 'yeah, I read all your stickies, but recommend me a bike, I AM DIFFERENT'. It's like an annual repeat cycle. After his "oh, how fast can it go?", I say, let him get a Busa and be done with it.

You want a good cheap bike? Even though it's hard to find one at this time of the year, just search using ontario.kijiji.ca and within 250+ km radius. Usually bikes in the boonies are much cheaper than around GTA.

Suggestion ... buy a used 250 ride for a month or two and then if you get bored buy the 650/700/1000 ... you will dump your first bike and you will learn a lesson on speed n maturity, the question is how fast will you be going when you learn that and how much will it cost you to fix it...

Good luck on your bike adventures and w.e you do remember you are human and have no reset button or ESC key.

So you're saying he won't dump a 600-1000 bike after riding 250 for a month? LOL

called around for some insurance qotes and it seems like i will have to settle for 250 :/
not what i want but it will have to do for now freaking insurance companys are rip offs

they wanted more than 8000 for a ninja 600cc.

After reading through all the posts I'm glad your going to get the 250. I'll let you read into that statement as you wish.

I'm a first year rider and got the 250 ninja... I love it. So easy to throw around, forgiving, and still faster acceleration than most cars. Just the top end speed isn't that great. But still how often do you go 50 over the limit?

0-60 is 3 seconds or 8 seconds? Do you really need to be that fast at 21 on your first bike? Then as you see you better pay up to insurance companies large.

Enjoy the new bike.
Just don't forget to wave to all your fellow riders, including scooters. :lmao:

while the insurance in Ontario IS a rip off there is a reason it's high for noobs and that's cuz they get themselves killed or injured.

In other countries you'd have lower insurance and a difference set of restrictions on your bike choice and in some have to be escorted by a licenced experienced motorcycle rider ( even if they are in a car ) for 3 months.
Sort of a nanny for the noobs.
And don't even THINK of getting a ticket or having even a single drink when you are on your probation period - if you think rates are high now.
