why not?
or maybe a sv650?

probably cause it looks like crap? lol

sv650s= sexy :)

looks wicked man, how fast can something like that go?
also what year is that?
I did a top speed run with my friend on his 09 SV650S. It started to loose acceleration around 200kph (gps), theoretically it can get to 220kph with factory gearing.

142mph = 228km/h give or take a bit for speedo error

what i ment to say is that something with not too much power to kill me if i make a mistake.
ive read that some bikes are more forgiving then others so something like a 600 or 1000 cc is not going to be very friendly.

You could also go for a Ninja 300, plenty of power, insurance -might- be still reasonable and it looks pretty good to me.

DO NOT get a SuperSport just yet.

sane people go to a race track, if you're feeling lucky and don't mind loosing your bike and license you can do it like some and go out on the highway

you need to learn to crawl before you run, if the only thing on your mind is top speed then you're not gonna have a long career riding motorycles

can you afford 4,000$ a year for insurance?

Anywhere works ;) When you get your bike let me know and you can come out for a run. I'm going to try and hit 305kph (gps) on my R1 :)

i know what your saying brother, thanks for the advice.
$4000 for insurance is a little high for me at the moment, i can always ask my parents for some help but i dont want to go there.
i will call around for some insurance prices first and take it from there thank you.

bikes can go that fast? 305? i dont believe it.
Hey, the MotoGP bikes did 357kph the other day :)

I've had my R1 to 290kph GPS where it hit the rev limiter due to the gearing. I've put on different sprockets so it should top out at 305kph now. I figure it shouldn't be hard for it to get from 290 to 305 but some people have said it's way way harder than I think :)

Even most current 600SS bikes (2006+ R6 for example) can hit 270kph in a reasonable amount of time/space :)

Good luck on your new bike purchase!
