Walked in to the parking lot to a dropped bike! =(

A reason to use a paging alarm. Not for it being stolen as much as stopping someone being nosey. I Have managed to confront someone who was checking out my bike too close in the work parking lot. Also, if there is a knock over, the alarm is screaming, *maybe* someone will get plates of the offending car.

yeah, hopefully by the end of the month i'll get a decent alarm system.

On a windy day last week, the tilt sensor on my key fob went off. I ran out of the office and fortunately found it still standing. I turned it around so that the bike was leaning away from the wind, with the wind pressure pushing against the kick stand.

Was it windy? My bike weighs 500 lbs with a full tank. Depending on how you park, it wouldn't take too much wind to knock over a 250.

wasn't windy i don t think
picked up a fiberglass repair kit. gonna start working on it after some lunch. hopefully it'll be a good quick fix until i order a new one

same thing happened to me yesterday but in the driveway. Got a small crack in the cowl and broken mirror. Someone recommended Plastic Surgeon. I am gonna give 'em a call and see how it goes.

let me know how it goes!

i googled "ninja 250 fairings" and this dhgate website popped up, and for about $375 us i can get a full fairing kit.
Wouldn't suggest buying fairings from there or other places in china, the paint is cheap, clearcoat is cheap, plastic is cheap. Find OEM fairings if they are in you budget.

if it happens again, then consider just removing the fairings and going streetfighter style.

that thing is beautiful!
i've just finished fiberglass resin patching the cracks. definitely going to be a winter project for street fighter! just need to save up for exhaust system and new lights!

Try kawasakipartsnation.com. I used them before.. They sell authentic OEM parts just with out the rip off since they sell on US prices. Use USPS for shipping or pay customs.

Our local dealers(kahuna etc) order from Kawasaki Canada/ parts Canada, which orders from the OEM wholesalers in the US and rip us off in the process.... Cut the cue and order from these guys I can almost guarantee you will see at least 25% price difference MINIMUM dude. On my fairing I paid about a third of the price local and its the same bloody part.

yeah, thanks guys.
definitely going to order oem, like aforementioned i'd be better off with expensive oem than cheap chinese

when the new one comes in i am going to save the one i have now as a winter project to learn how to fix and paint this abs plastic stuff.

if it's just cracked and it's ABS, it is easily fixed....

make up some ABS slurry, spread it on the back into the crack this will fuse the part back together, it will be as strong as it was before, then you just need to fix up the other side, a bit of bondo or ABS slurry as well, sand, primer and paint....

to make the ABS slurry, get some lego and some Acetone, mix together until it's like a paste, spread on crack let dry.....

LEGO isn't just for Kid's....

This is a sidecover restoration thread.

Here is issue number one.

Issue number two...

Made a mold out of a good peg.

I forgot to get a pic of the peg before I installed it. It was JB weld on a bolt.

Look on ebay I used to buy new oem 250 fairings from Thailand for 200 for the side fairing an 25 for the tail. These were OEM not aftermarket.

Thanks for the tips Gatekeeper

AsianConnection71? That store saved me tons on parts for my 650R. 1/3 to 1/2 our prices. OEM. Usually get the parts faster tha the local Kawi dealers , too because they just walk in to their Kawi dealer, who already has everything in stock (unlike here) and ship it over.
