So my buddy had his bike stolen and it was recovered with some fairing damage, missing brake lever, broken windscreen, missing bar ends, ripped out ignition and can't get the engine to start (Not getting any spark even with new plugs) and has I believe around 65k on it.
He was offered to buy it back for $900 with a clean title and wondering if it would be worth about $1,500 if he was to sell it? (he doesn't want the hassle of parting it out as he lives in apartment)

Any suggestions on if he should buy it back or just call it a day on it?

Check the ignition. Are there four wires? Two thick ones and two little ones? Tie the two big ones together, then tie the two little ones together. Should fire right up. The small wires are the anti-hotwire safety that disables the fuel pump if they are cut.

This time of year I doubt he'd get $1500 for it as is.

I wouldn't buy it back if its in that bad of a condition. BUT if you do, lemme know as I could use some of those parts, especially the gas tank if its in good condition.

IMHO, id let it go to bike heaven. lol.

That is what I told him but he thinks he can make a couple bucks off it....

He had a spare ignition tied in to see if it would start, Fuel pump would prime, bike would turn over constantly but no spark.

Fuses? Maybe the coils are dead?
