First off, I think this is great what you are doing Sonny. Helping out complete strangers is certainly not something everyone does. I would love to shake your hand one day and thank you!
This is my story. It’s about my brother-in-law, Phil. I’m telling this story to show that he is experiencing hard financial times at the moment. It’s not that he’s done something incredibly heroic or anything like that, so readers beware, because it is rather lengthy.
Phil just turned 21 about a month ago. He has been dating a girl for 2 years now - she is 18. She already has a daughter who is 2 and a half (father isn't Phil; the father is out of the picture). The daughter is mainly being raised by her grand grandparents (which is a long & complicated story on its own).
Anyhow, Phil's girlfriend found out she was pregnant, again. Keep in mind, she already has a daughter that she struggles to take care of, and she's intermittingly living with Phil (who lives at his parents’ house --> my in-laws). She hasn't even finished 10th grade because of her 1st pregnancy.
Both Phil and her work but make very small wages. Phil’s parents seem to be living reasonably well, but actually have quite a bit of dept (over and above their mortgage). Because of their existing dept, and the high costs of raising/caring for a child, they suggested an open adoption as an option. So Phil and his gf, after months of debate, decided to give the baby to adoption to people that would be better prepared (financially) to care for the child - as hard as that was. They met with the adoptive parents a few times and all. Seemed like everything was planned perfectly, until July 19th, when she gave birth to a healthy baby boy. And they absolutely could not give the baby away!
So here we are now, both Phil and his parents are depleted of any spare money. In fact, the parents are now required to do some renovations to the house, as to make room for the new addition. Add to that the cost of diapers, strollers, clothes, etc. and the expenses quickly rise exponentially way above their income. Also his gf can’t breast feed because she took something to prevent breast milk from developing (seeing as they weren’t keeping the baby) so milk will be another expense.
They are extremely happy to be taking care of their baby! They love life and are taking very good care of the baby, who they’ve named Myles.
All this to say that Phil would be so grateful for any spare money in a time of such need.

I can't really say that I'm in desperate NEED of money to the point some of the people have posted before, but a helping hand couldn't hurt. So my story is as below.
I just moved from Queensville to Winnipeg for a fresh start and thought I was in the perfect financial standing to do so. I packed everything into a 5'x8"U-Haul trailer (yes, that's how minimally I live), and started out on my journey. En route my older TDI burned through a set of brakes, spun a rode bearing, and the tie down loop in the trailer broke, causing my bike to fall and destroy the right side fairing.
I know this isn't a ton of stuff, but when you factor in start-up costs and all of the repairs (I no longer have access to a shop), I'm fairly far behind the eight ball now. I'm not dying, but a little could help me get back into the black. If not, someone more deserving will get a helping hand and I'm perfectly okay with that.
Anyway, I appreciate what you're doing, Sonny.

ccasion7:I work as a superisor for a camp down in the more youth valnerable area of the city. This was a 6 week program for the kids from ages 6-12 years of age. Camp is coming to an end tomorrow morning (technically tody). We are running a potluck for the kids. There is an average of ~40 kids. I promised the kids I would one day make them breakfast and this would be a great way to use that money.

I suggest
1)buying food and taking it to a food bank, it can go a long way. If you don't like supporting food banks in Canada, do it for a 3rd world country.
2) animal shelters are also a great idea.
3) send it to Mayor Ford so that he can go back to eating some food so that he does not have to be going into the hospitals
4) the selfish one, I could use it since I recently lost my dear and beloved 2wheel emerald

The toronto rape crisis center's funding has been drastically cut. you can donate to them directly or through the link in my signature (WROAR RIDE), either way the money goes directly to the TRCC as WROAR does not have any paid staff. The ride is this sunday for those that would like to go.
