When I ride some place, I don't leave the bike unattended/out of site for very long. I wouldn't ride the bike to a movie, etc.
The problem with condo's is that they're so visible and open. That's where you need the layered security measures.
My chain weighs about 40 lbs. It can be cut, yes. But if a thief is willing to risk the exposure cutting that chain, then he's completely retarded, because he'll get caught because of the noise and time it would take.
My friends and I tried. It took us about 5 minutes with an angle grinder to cut open a link. The shower of sparks and noise will wake up the whole building, I'm sure (at least I hope
)I raised a stink in my building about my busa getting stolen before (when it wasn't chained and locked). Now we have way more cameras, and they're all hi-def and in colour.
And Metro Toronto Police recovered my bike in one month.
Btw, I doubt the thieves are going to church to pray for the victim. I suspect you mean prey....

Really eh, truly good people don't need imaginary friends to make them good. So I would guess the ones that do need imaginary friends aren't all that good in the end.
I wonder if it would be possible to get a van and modify it to be a storage unit. Park the van in a space and then just have a little ramp slide out of the van and park the bike inside. I know it's not foolproof, but it would be a little under cover. Even better would be to park the van properly and that way the back doors could be right against the wall.
People! I keep telling you! If you steal a bike, do not park it in next to a Tim Hortons driverthrough window!!!

More power to you or anyone in buying your dream bike and I dont envy you at all. I definitely applaud to those who work their butts off to get their dream bikes and was not spoon fed by their parents who haven't/don't work at all and have been leeching since day 1 until now and had to cry to get their dream bike. I totally feel sorry for your parents who had to work extra hours to try to keep their kids satisfied. You should feel ashamed of yourself. I WORK to get what I want and that's how it should be even though I had the financial support needed. I definitely can afford the same bike you bought brahhh and whatever prestigious bike out there in the market. Just saying!!! No offense!!!

I think it has more to do with people that don't have several bikes stolen and subsidize the condo owners repeated losses with higher insurance premiums.
