10 ways to lose your vehicle

Wrong side of the road, didn't know that you get towed for that. 40 over in the city is considered stunting? Good to know!!

Parking left wheels to curb is apparently a no-no in TO but done all the time in Hamilton.

i always liked the part of the stunt driving law that reads "if your vehicle displays the intention to break traction with the surface of the highway." Couldn't make it more vague if they tried, altho i guess never say never...

And what pisses me off the most about all these is that it's at the cops' discretion. No trial, just good ol guilty until proven innocent. HTA 172 is a joke.

Ever been outside of North America? Try going somewhere in the world where "live and let live" is actually a way of life and then come back here. It gives you a new appreciation as to how micro-managed our lives are. It's not exactly news that we are a bleeding heart nation, and pass a new law every time someone has their finger nail broken.

They're basically saying dont ride in our province.....altho i kind of thought the idea was for government to reflect the wishes of the people. I guess it still is only here it reflects the wishes of the people who cry the loudest, not the majority.

Yeah, just the way Adolf would have run things. So how many Canadians died in WWII for nothing?

Wow i hope you've had at least as much whiskey to drink tonight as i have to post something like that. I know you're not really trivializing the men who gave their lives on the other side of the world for what they were told was our freedom? I'm really hoping thats all the response thats necessary for that comment, and that your response will be yes i was drunk, i would never normally say that.

It'll still get you a parking ticket in Hamilton, but this city bylaw is mostly enforced on a complaint basis.

Wow....

"In British Columbia, motorcycles make up just three per cent of insured vehicles, yet regrettably account for some 10 per cent of road fatalities. So, what's a province to do? Revamp its motorcycle laws. Effective June 1, B.C. will add new regulations that will crack down on motorcycle riding. New fines will make helmets mandatory, but it's seating infractions that could result in you losing your bike. If motorcycle passengers do not have their feet placed on foot pegs or floorboards, cops will be able to impound the vehicle beginning later this year."

I had to do a double take with that one too. I'm thinking the idea behind that one is if you're "stunting" both legs over one side, sitting up on the gas tank etc they have a way to nail you with a stunting ticket. It's nice the way they word it tho to give police almost unlimited power.

it's getting to the point where you look at a cop the wrong way, it's a stunting charge. What I think is funny, is in the MTO Motorcycle handbook, it states that if you are going over rough pavement or uneven surfaces, to stand slightly on the pegs and absorb the impact with your knees and elbows, but HTA 172 states that if your butt isn't in the seat, you're stunting. completely contradictory of each other, further proof that this province doesn't know it's *** from a hole in the ground.

Still blows my mind that it's supposed to be our country, but it doesn't feel like it very much these days. People in government making decisions designed to further their career and appease anyone who wants to cry about something. And none of us seem to care enough to actually do something about it (applies to me as well).
