Bar end mirrors?

Hey guys,

I've been messing with the mirrors on the 2011 CBR250R and can't seem to get the field of view that I want...the 125 had it on the handlebars so it was easier to get a very good view behind the bike.
I'm considering getting bar end mirrors...any suggestions or comments? Not sure what to look for specifically. I've seen a few online but have no experience with them.

Thanks!

I considered getting a cheap set off ebay, but heard nothing but negative reviews about them (distorted view, bolts falling out, colour fading after a year etc.).

I got the CRG Arrow bar end mirrors for about $100 ea from http://www.motoability.com/ (GREAT customer service, by the way - send him an e-mail with what you're looking for).

I'm VERY impressed with the quality and look of the CRG's. Don't cheap out on them or you'll end up buying another set next year.

Been using single CRGs (left side) on all my bikes for a long time. They look great and are very functional.

I ran mountain bike mirrors (bar end) for years, cheap and never had an issue with them moving or vibration. Moved away once I changed the riding position to be more aggressive (lowered bars), they just did not seem to work anymore.

I've bought mine from ebay. seller name was moto-deluxe.
I've had them for 2 year now and they've been fine. I think it's 70$ and that's for a pair of them. Much cheaper.
Just don't get the ones from China. They're quality is low.

Napoleon.

They're mid-priced (~$50... shop around) and very good quality, aside from the paint (it fades to a dull black, in stead of shiny when they're new), but they offer excellent visibility. They're rare here because they can be a pain to get your hands on; I had to order mine from a dealer in California.

I have a question about the usability of them.

I have been contemplating getting bar end mirrors and when I pretend to look in my mirror that is non existent it seems that I would have to look way to far away from the road to see what is happening. Anyone else think this might be an issue?

You would have to look away from the road to see what's happening.
But not that much, - you'll get used in 2-3 days.

I've heard decent reviews of these mirrors specifically: http://stores.ebay.ca/hottiemoto

Price point at ~$80 shipped is above the cheaper sets you can find on ebay but not the all out BS of $100 per mirror

Thanks for all the suggestions guys I highly appreciate it!

I need to get to GP in the next few weeks anyway as the boots I bought at the show have the sole peeling off at the back after only about 600km of riding...good quality!

+1

I was lucky in that my sv already came with these installed. I love how adjustable they are.
