Bike show and insurance companies

Hey so I was told that the coming up bike show is going to have insurance companies that are willing to quote you and start a policy on the spot. Is this true?

International center corner of Derry and airport in Mississauga, see you there!

Went to one of the shows and came across an insurance company based in Ottawa who claimed appox $1 per cc. They were telling everyone the same thing. I took their information and called them the following week. 03, GSXR 600 $4000. Friend's 1000 $7500. Clean record for both riders. I ended up staying with State Farm for $1400.
I doubt they'll start a policy at the show. You're probably better off just calling around to the recommended companies people deal with here on the forums.

My friend got a good quote a couple of years ago at the show (one of Jevco's agents if I remember), got it confirmed over the phone and got his insurance, so it's YMMV.

Ya I was quoted $1400 last year by state farm too. For some reason it jumped to $2,800 this year. I don't get it. And it's like I got a ticket or anything over the year, my record is clean. My car insurance went up to. ($30/ month). Can anyone recommend a insurance company for someone under 25?

I too got a couple biz cards and called for pricing...was told they have great rates...
christ sakes some ins co's had models at their booths to draw ppl in...I didn't bother with them..i want speak to an agent not a model who can't ans anything.
That co in Ottawa quoted me over $3000/yr for my 9R....I'm 33 with one 20 over. I currently pay $1600/yr and i think that's too high. Told the woman she wasted my time and then a week later her associate has hounded me to price out my trucks and biz ins...like piss off.
lm going back with statefarm and taking my biz ins and trucks there too.

God I hate ins co's...if some of you guys knew how much I pay in ins you'd vomit..hint...it's the same as my mortgage.

My input I had an umbrella policy with State farm ( House, car, life insurance, bike). Statefarm quoted me 380 per month for my car and 180 for my bike (1 litre super sport). Switch to TD the bike was quote 1300 per year and the car is 1400 a year. So shop around. Statefarm was the most affected company with the insurance scam so they need to raise premiums to cover their loss, luckily for me they are not the only insurance company in Ontario.

I shopped around before I got my bike this year and the cheapest I found was a state farm in Mississauga... paying $67 a month with M1... but I'm 30 and have a small 250.

Primmum is now offered through TD. Just did the online quote on my 03 600. $4100... Interesting... LOL

$1100/yr, comp, late 20's, clean record, 08 CBR 1k, house, 2 cars w/ SF for reference

23 years old, 2001 cbr 600 f4i, crash and cry coverage, clean record, both full G and full M, had both licences since I was 16 and I live by midland ontario

Primmum insurance ( td) $7,300/year
Jevco insurance $7,500/year
State farm ( with my car insured with them) $ 4,700
home for chrome insurance ( wont take sport bikes)
The cooperators insurance group ( won't take sport bikes)

Anyone know if kingsway insurance is still around? Does anyone have any other insurer they can suggest?

Crippling costs. It beats me how you young folks can afford to ride.
