Portable toolkit that would fit cbr600rr and others

Hi guys... Figured I would ask you if you came across a nice portable toolkit that would fit inside a supersport?

Thx

Did the RR come with a factory toolkit? Maybe try ebay?
My F4i has a factory toolkit that came with it Including almost every tool you would need for any roadside repair.

It doesn't come with one?

Was recently looking on line at mororcycle tool kits as my friends bike was missing some peices...let's just say the prices were rediculous. Your best bet is to do a google search on what comes in the bikes tool kit if you dont have one and getting the items from crappy tire.Maybe someone experienced here can put up a list of what good tools to have with you. I know many of you have modified their kits over the years.

thanks guys... i have the american version of the toolbox which includes 2 pieces lol.

would like to buy some quality tools that would not strip bolts and last me a while... if i fibd something i will share

thanks ya

I've seen the tail of a 600rr and there's basically no room for 5 sheets of paper in there haha.
This american toolbox you say you have, where is it located?

you are right... it is tiny. its located in the tail... but it seems it could
pack a few more tools in there.. if not a tail bag will have to do

What other tools are you looking to carry? If they are common type of tools, go to CT or Home Depot or any other store that sells tools and try to get compact versions or multitools all bunched together.
Anything specific to bikes like the tool to adjust the rear spring should be available at bike shops or even ebay (quality may vary...).
A tank/tail bag is a great idea. I have a tank bag that carries certain things with me whenever I go on a trip longer than going to the gf's.
Pro tip: Tire plug kits are worth more than their weight in gold!

Other than tire plug kits what more would you be likely to carry in your toolkit ? I am trying to think if it would be wiser to buy as you mention piece by piece, as there is a few items in those kits I will not need... I am trying to stay away from Cdn tire as from past experience most of their tools fall apart fast. Is there any other local store or brand of products you recommend that will last ? If not guess I will go for Cruz tools.

thanks

From The previous generation RR starting in 03 has a tool box under the side fairing on the right hand side of the bike. Problem is you need tools to take off the side fairing. :D

Owners manual shows that it should come with one (at least for 2011) under the rear seat. I didn't go look at the kit but it should have more than two wrenches, it at least has a wire strap I believe for securing your helmet to the helmet lock as well (according to the owners manual)

Tools I have with me on every ride:

- Tire plug kit (air is available at most gas stations).
- A multibit screwdriver
- An allen key set
- Extra fuzes
- A couple small rags
- A roll of electrical tape (takes less space than duct tape)
- And finally, and definitely not least......Zip ties!!!

As you can see these are all things that take very little space considering how big a job they can help you achieve.
I have the advantage of having lots of space in my tail to fit all this except the tire plug kit, but that's because my baffle is in the tail along with a spare set of full leather gloves. Plus I have the stock toolkit as well but I don't like the quality (or lack thereof) of the tools. I still keep it on the bike though for the off-chance that I may need something in there.
I know the 2007 CBR600RR's have basically no space because of the undertail exhaust (i have 2 friends who have/had this bike). Keep in mind that anything you manage to fit in there will get very hot because of this.

I think for your application a tank/tail bag would be a much better option if you want to be prepared for most circumstances like myself, but at least keep zip ties and a screwdriver/allen key set in the tail for those days where you forget the bag before the ride.

+1. The RR has a tool kit, but in the most hardest spot to get at if you really needed them.

If you really needed to carry tools with you, but em in a back pack or a tail bag.
