PAIR/EVAP system removal.

I installed a Yoshimura R77 slip on for my 2008 Bandit 1250 while ago. It's not too loud but has a nice growl when I really get on it. I am, however, getting lots of popping on deceleration so I've purchased a PAIR/EVAP system removal kit from Metrick Metal through Dale Walker's Holeshot Performance (Bandit tuning experts). I'm just wondering if anyone knows of any negative side effects removing this stuff will have. If I tries to sell the bike would I be able to get it certified with the anti pollution gear removed?

makes me 636 pop a lot more....

PS: YOu dont need to buy parts to take the pair valve out....just take the reeds out and run hoses etc etc....unless the suzuki's do it way differently

basically doing a "kleen air" mod on the 636....you can see i took the reeds off and using stock housing for the pair valves...

I didn't have to buy the kit but the billet aluminum block off plates clean things up instead of keeping the housings on. The kit also comes with a load resistor sends a signal back to the ECM that prevents the FI warning light from coming on. Does the Kawi have an EVAP system with a charcoal canister like the Bandit has? Are you removing it for your kleen air mod?

DID it for the kleen air mod...didnt want the airbox filling up with oil...

You have to know how to 12 o'clock a bike for that to happen, or crash and the bike land upside down while running...Your not going to do this running your 12min laps around the Gap, or on 2 wheels at all...

The mod you did is very different then what the OP is talking about....His has nothing to do with the crankcase breather re-routing like you have done...

If you stunt the mod you have done prevents the possibility of oil flowing out the crankcase breather at the top/back of the motor while wheeling at extreme angles and or high RPM....And filling up your airbox with oil and hydro locking...If you ever used the mod as you say you intended it for, then your bike would smoke out like this...

If you dont stunt, people do the same mod because it creates vacuum in the crankcase, and some people believe this frees up some more power in engines...You should say you did it for that reason, cause I have a pretty good feeling your not 12ing...yet..lol

nope! Not even close to 12'0clocks. I am more like at 3'oclocks at BEST

"I did the mod to free up more HP from my engine...thats why I did it" :D.....how else am I suppose to beat a ZX10's 12min time around the GAP?

actually I also did it, so that i don't have to worry about over filling my oil, I like to fill the oil right to the top of the....but I've never over filled it so much that it was burning off...Its just one of those $5 mods that claims to improve something, even if it doenst I haven't invested a ton into it.

Again the over filling of oil, will never be a oil in the air box situation unless your standing the bike up at 12....I always use the full 4L, and top up often because we loose it as we 12 and it smokes out...

Basically oil flows out the back of the motor while at 12 or past it, flows through the tube youve added, through the ports in the head. And comes out in the exhaust port just after the valve. The heat from the exhaust turns it into smoke...

On the 636's there is a little clear plastic bottle on the left side of the bike, its connected to the bottom left corner of the airbox...If you manage to fill that bottle with oil, then you need to do the re routing mod....Its supposed to be a oil/water drain for the airbox, but if you do manage to 12 thats the first thing that will fill up with oil

yup!! Not even close to even getting a dribble of oil into that bottle yet.....

are you still teaching? Food for Tips/Advise?

Nope Ive retired from the parking lot, and am now going for bragging rights on the street like you...Where is this gap place, Im coming for you? lol

PS frekeyguy, make sure you have the vacuum hose coming off the throttle boddies plugged very well, and also make sure you have gutted the spring from inside the T/valve....It is normally closed so if you dont gut it, it stays closed. And the Vaccum hose if it starts to suck in hot air off the motor, it makes the bike run like crap...

Deals GAP: YOu can buy DRAGON stickers there....drink dragon coffee, eat dragon cookies.......

"We're sorry, but our stickers are only available for purchase within our physical store at Deals Gap, NC. The Dragon sticker is meant to be used as a badge of completion or proof of a right of passage, and therefore is not available on our online store. If that was the case, then anyone could get them anytime, and the true meaning would be lost.Others might sell their stickers online, but this is the True Home of the Dragon, and all else are nothing more than a polite nod to all that we've done here for so long at the store.
There is no need to call the store, or email asking for sticker sales. Sorry if this is disappointing to you.
Thanks,
The Staff at Deals Gap / Official Dragon Gear"

I think I am using a screw cap protector with some safety wire for that vacuum hose I believe.

Yes, the reed spring is out.....

thanks for the advise.
