I tried just putting up the the front with the help of my wife, who isnt as strong as I thought. ....
Same happened to me. Only the bike fell on her so it turned out OK.

Ouch...that must have been a sight. Hope your front rotors and brake calipers are alright.

considering its the first time I have ever used sport bike stands I gotta say, learning experience!

remember, put the back one on first!!!! it will level out the front and be sooo much easier then having someone balance it, and hold the forks straight.
lesson learned.

Picked up a set of these today, thanks Vlad.
The rear works really well, it's rather easy to do on your own and didn't even need a block under the kick stand. The front on the other hand is just OK, kind of a pain but I'm getting the hang of it. For the price I can't complain!

These stands are on sale in CT starting tomorrow for $75/pair (bike not included). Details here.
Edit: It has been brought to my attention that these stands are not of very high quality and will not easily fit every bike. They may also be on sale even cheaper elsewhere or at some other time. Be prepared to return them to CT if they don't satisfy your requirements. Also, I don't have them and don't need them - please don't ask for any more details.
Edit 2: I decided to rename the thread since it turned into a general discussion about bike stands with a lot of useful info and photos.

A good pair of used stands is better than a cheap pair of new stands. Bought a used Woodcraft front and a Hindle rear stand on Kijiji for $100. Both work great.

These stands are great and work fine. You don't need 2 people and they are solid. Go waste your money on super expensive stands you don't need and brag about the brand badging if that's what your ego needs.

The front works fine, the rear sucks. The horizontal offset between the spool cradle and the stand's wheels is too small and the bike comes off the stand too easily. Bump into it in the garage while you're doing something else and there's a chance the bike will come off the stand.
The BVP stands (same as Gorilla stands i think) are cheaper than the CT garbage, and work better.

I bought the same MC/ATV jack for $60 + taxes at CT about 2 years ago. I believe that they have another sale on them that will be about what I paid for, later in the year.
