Where do you guys buy your Oil?

Any oil that's not energy conserving, like Horizon said....will be fine. So Rotella T6 is gold. Also, 10w40 are oil weights recommended for the bike so 10 weight at cold and 40 at hot. 5w40 just means it'll be lighter and easier flowing then 10 when cold and Toronto gets pretty cold. Bikes don't account for the local temp. when recommending oil weights. If you live in a place that's very hot and never gets cold, you can even put 15w40.

In short, you'll be fine with Rotella T6 5w40 and its probably the best synthetic oil out there for the price.
 
im almost sold on the rotella T6. but can you guys explain to me why it says its a diesel oil? thats whats really tripping me out about it

There are countless of web sites where guys for years now debating what is good or what
you should never use in your bike/car/truck etc...
Most guys are very opinionated on the matter that they know very little about.
"Rotella for motorcycles" is very popular topic on the web and was discussed here on gtam before. Use the "Search" button and you will find more info than you care to read about.

LOL, I might be one of those "most guys".

@torontoZX6R....do what he said and check the previous discussion he claims to have happened on here. If you don't find what you're looking for, look on the web and you'll find everything I've said so far to be true. I've done this research myself and only told you what I've read. PM if you need anything else.
 
So after reading oil threads until i almost passed out, I decided on the Shell Rotella T6. Not only because it is a bit cheaper, but because sooo many people use it and seem to love it. can deny that

Just picked up a jug at CT yonge and steeles. Unfortunately, they now only come in the 5L jug, for 37$

You were lucky, most Ct'S only have T6 in 4L jugs for $38 now.... Check out your local Kenworth truck dealer, they sell T6 for $32 for the 5L jug.

It says "Diesel Oil" cuz it is oil designed for a diesel.
So if you have a diesel motorcycle you've found the right oil.

CT for 10W40 oil with no additives.
FlyingSquirrel for filters.

doens't have some sort of detergent package...i think.

Firestarter knows all about oils...
 
Can someone link me Rotella T6? I can't seem to find it on CT's site.

Would appreciate if you guys list your OCI too!
 
I buy an amsoil oil and filter from GP bikes and run it for 10000km. They are the cheapest spot I have found so far. It costs me less to run synthetic than dino oil.
 
Just finished my first oil change with a k&n oil filter and Kawasaki S4 100% synthetic oil. Got it all from Kahuna and paid around $70. Gotta find a cheaper place!

**** that, who cares if has already been spoken, he asked a good question, please answer, this thread is actually pretty good, every other thread just says "please look at prior threads where the topic was discussed"
