dude

i was just a few cars behind you. when you are in a turn, even out your acceleration and look where you wanna go. What you did was dangerous, dont try to correct anything suddenly. Lucky for you, the acura behind you was quick on his brakes.

I could not stop, but went on the DVP, exited, circled back and by the time i was back, the tow truck guy and EMS had already gotten you untangled. I saw you walking to the cop, and someone was picking up your stuff and your backpack.

I was the guy on the blue GS500 with silver helmet. Hope you are oki, and hope that fall does not scare you too much. I am a newbie myself and seeing you skid made something in my tummy squirm.

Ride Safe man !

Arun, were you parked near Queen & Broadview today? Only ask cause I haven't seen any other blue GS500s around, but saw one there today.

Nope, was not in the area. I was riding down from Fairview along don mills to avoid the DVP SB Jam. Saw our buddy skid, before heading dt and back. So How'd ya make a nekkid bike outta the 500F ? Pictures please

will surely give the thumbs up if i see ya.

:)

I haven't actually taken any pictures of my own bike yet since stripping the fairings, but basically I just re-mounted the stock headlight in an aftermarket bracket and switched the signals while I was at it. There are some pics from the first person who posted the idea on the gstwins forum (as far as I know, at least) here: http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=39815.0, and another guy who took the idea a little further here: http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=46340.0.

One thing that's kind of annoying is that the bottom tip of the headlight can tap the mudguard on big enough bumps due to the soft front - waiting on Sonic Springs to alleviate this, but I may actually just end up getting some other aftermarket entirely - stock light may just be a temporary measure for me.

was he going in too hot and ran wide?

he started slow, then at the middle of the curve he twisted his grip while on the lean and for some reason, he tried correcting the lean but hitting the front brake

ended up on the guardrail. glad he walked.

NICE. Are you fixing your forks in reverse too ? I have seen a GSnaked bike with a GSXR front end.

The GS's square frame lends a very macho look to any naked concept. Lots of ideas over on customfighters.com. my fave has to be : http://i254.photobucket.com/albums/hh115/seamax206/motorcycle/DSCN0873.jpg

I am not sure if I will keep the GS for next season or upgrade to something bigger. If i do, its time to customize. For now, its time to get some experience under my belt and get the M class licence. Wanna do a run this weekend ?

:)

That is a nice GS. I'm definitely a fan of the matte black, and plan on giving my bike a similar paint job over the winter.

hehe yeah, that was me on the hyo, what a fun experience that was. Being a new rider looks like i had to learn the hard way. Didn't expect that ramp to be that sharp and when i realized it is, then it was too late. Target fixated on the guard rail and was trying not to squeez the breaks too much. I have actually slipped on the pavement before hitting a guard rail, not sure if that was a good or bad thing. Ended up with a scraped knee and that's it. Good thing wearing full gear except for the pants and a backpack with a light jacket inside cushioned my fail. Everyone at the scene were really helpful and also advised not to be discouraged from riding again. Funny thing is that i wanted to take additional riding lessons, but i guess it's too late now.

DVP north from 401 east?

I went into that turn in the rain in my car for the first time the other day and I thought it was just a 90 deg left from the way the cars in front of me looked.. so I went through and accelerated and then found out there was another 180 degrees of turn to go and went into a nice 4 wheel slide at 90kmh  kept control easy but it scared my buddy lol.

Dude, it's never too late to take more lessons.
The more training for riding/driving you can find, the better it will make you become (as long as you pay attention and apply what they teach of course).

For sure!

Glad you aren't seriously injured because it seems like it could've been much worse. I agree with the other people here its never too late to get more experience and lessons under your belt. I believe that when you decide there's nothing else in motorcycling for you to learn, that's when you're about to get seriously injured or killed. I'm a new rider too and I have found the Twist of the Wrist books and DVD's to be a helpful because they emphasize the fundamentals of riding.

I hope your accident proves to be a lesson learned and a opportunity to commit yourself safe riding and honing your skill.
