Yalla Habibi! Fortnine documentary

As soon as I added the price tag of the 2 multistradas I knew they were going to be some unrealistic adventures.

Also ryan seems to have done a 360 on ducati, last time I checked he had quite the axe to grind with them?

Anybody seen it yet? How’s it , I will watch it next weekend.

For context : https://fortnine.ca/en/movie-yalla-habibi

I’ve been a fan of FortNine and Ryan’s videos since before I moved to Canada, so knowing they’re a Canadian company makes it even better. I’m also a sucker for Multistradas, so as soon as they announced the release date, I pre-ordered the film and watched it on day one.

After finishing it, I felt… a bit disappointed. Maybe I went in with the wrong expectations. I was expecting something more Itchy Boots-style adventurous, but everything felt a bit cramped and rushed.

That said, I do think context matters. They were literally racing the clock, with no real film crew (just Ryan's passenger) so no time for glamour shots or retakes. In some interviews, they mentioned they went back a year later just to film the B-roll. Plus, they compressed 17 days into a 1.5-hour film, so some of that feeling probably comes from the edit.

If they ever release an extended cut, I think I’d enjoy it a lot more.

Well, I think that’s what happens when Ducati ends up being the only manufacturer willing to lend them a different pair of bikes on every continent.

That alone probably says a lot about Ducati’s confidence in the reliability of the V4 Granturismo engine. I guess there are some benefits to detuning and understressing what is essentially a superbike motor.

Fun fact: in a few interviews, Ryan mentioned that since they pitched the project to Ducati as a “race,” Ducati even asked FortNine if they wanted the bikes to have tire warmers when picking them up at the airport.

The Multistrada is the king of the class. Hard not to like. :)
