WTF accidents in the GTA this week?

I fixed it for you.

You know, I disagree somewhat. I think there are a large number of people who have never driven and try getting their license at age 30 or 40 and I think it's tougher at that age. It's a lot easier to learn stuff at 16 or 17 than at 37. I don't think he meant his comment based on race..it's more anyone who chooses to try to learn to drive and become acquainted with traffic later on in life.

so the use of "immigrants", "drive where they're from", "HK", "come over here", "Customs of Canadian driving", "overall culture" and "immigrant driving schools" is all accidental?

it quacks.

Sorry to break it to you, Its not only the immigrants that can't drive, most of you home brewed Canucks can't drive either lol.

Yeah..I'll give ya that.. :-) Anyway, I'll say, without those terms, that people who try to learn later in life suck at it!! :-)

There is people on the road driving cars who cant even operate a toester oven or have never held/operated anything mechanical in their lives before they set foot in canada. Thats the problem. Licence are achieved way to easy and then there is the "texting"...

Chief: "Bake them away toys"
Lou: "What did you say Chief?"
Chief: "Do what the kid said."

Lou: That sounded like an explosion at the old Simpson place.
Chief Wiggum: Forget it. That's two blocks away.
Lou: Looks like there's beer coming out of the chimney.
Chief Wiggum: I am proceeding on foot. Call in a code 8.
Lou: [on the radio] We need pretzels. Repeat, pretzels.

if the police and government arent willing to do anything about distracted or plain dumb *** driving, then what hope do we have? we see it every day, 75 kph on the dvp in the middle lane...wtf are you thinking and why are you not shot on spot...i mean ticketed.

we need that minimum speed limit deally, or a buffer zone. say 100 kph, anything 15 percent in either direction is 100% legal. I hate how everyone crawls once a police car is near...****s traffic real good. causes the people not paying attention to slam on brakes, etc.

if all they care about is standing behind posts nailing speeders for revenue, what more can be done?

just like the LCBO and Cigarettes, they are addicted to the revenue and care not for the actual safety of the society...

they need the coin. plain and simple.

well, i've known some popo that have gotten irate at some of the elderly drivers and sent them for re testing and suspended their license until so...but then the old fart or fartette just gets in the car and drives cuz they know nothing will happen to them even if they kill someone...

My favorite is the 2-3 police cars I see every day parked at Lakeshore & Jameson catching people disobeying the "No left turns 4-6pm" sign. That's some real good work keep us all safe right there...

Just like they frequently sit at Lakeshore and Yonge north, in the mornings, to nail people turning left from what used to be a second left turn lane, before they removed it and made it almost impossible to use the Yonge exit to actually get to Yonge Street, at any time later than 6:00am.

I can't tell you how many women I've met/dated in/around the GTA that still don't have a full G driver's license. When you live and work in the downtown core, there's no need to drive. Immigrants, Canadian-born citizens, makes no difference. My point? Many of these people have no need for a license since they find otherways of commuting. Once it gets to the point where they need a license, then you have someone well into their adult years trying to learn to drive.

Side note, of the women that I've met, most have G1s and one has never had a license. I don't get it! My 16th birthday was on a Saturday and I was upset that the MTO offices weren't open to allow me to write my G1 test.

I find it interesting that everyone is focusing on driver training but there's no mention of motorcycle training. I just got my M2 last weekend (woo hoo!) and I can't believe how little you have to do to operate something so powerful. The M1 test is a joke, I read the booklet the night before the test and passed it with flying colours. At that point, without ever having touched a bike, I was allowed to buy a 1200 cc SS and take it on the highway. Does that not sound absurd? The M2 training did teach me a lot (thank you Learning Curves) but the test was far too easy. Even at this point, with the M2, I still don't think I'm ready to ride on the roads. When I get my first bike I will most likely spend the first few weeks on the parking lot or small, low-traffic streets.

If anything, the legal age to ride a motorcycle should be raised to at least 19, if not, higher.

Don'tbe so quick to be a smartarse... there are some here that should have paid attention in school to get an understanding of the English language.

Let me fix your paragraph:
There are people on the road driving cars who can't even operate a toaster oven or have never held/operated anything mechanical in their lives before they set foot in Canada. That's the problem. Licence's are achieved way to easily and then there is the "texting"...

If you're going to correct someone then make sure your corrections are correct!

"Licenses" (no apostrophe) are achieved way too easily, ...

;)
