The Special Investigations Unit has been called in after a motorcycle fled police and smashed into another vehicle in Scarborough Monday night.
Ontario Provincial Police attempted to pull over the motorcycle on Highway 401 near McCowan Road at around 11:45 p.m., but the driver sped away and a pursuit was initiated.
The motorcycle then continued onto Kennedy Road where Toronto police joined the chase.
The motorcycle then smashed into the rear of a vehicle on Kennedy Road near St. Clair Avenue a short time later, according to police.
The 23-year-old driver was arrested and transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The SIU is an arm's-length agency called in to investigate whenever someone is seriously hurt or killed while interacting with police.

Exactly. Some people get it so bad that they start to shake and then everything fails. I'm sure he was panicing like crazy when adrenalin rush kicked in. Good thing he's alright.
 
he did ok..lol made it all the way from the 401 to St. Clair
 
The "poor guy" is another statistic for insurance companies to use against you and another reason for police to distrust bikes.
 
He made a choice and now he's gonna have to live with it for the rest of his life.

But on the bright side at least he gets to live on...
 
The guy in Burlington who ran then tried to hide between 2 parked cars last week was more newsworthy.
