Would you buy a used bike from Quebec??

I am looking on kijiji, and it seems that Quebec bikes are cheaper by some degree, why is that and is it safe to buy from Quebec and bring it back to Ontario?

Yeah, they jacked their sticker prices to the point where many can't afford to ride. So there isn't much of a market in Quebec any more, therefore they try to sell outside the province.

Keep in mind that odo rollbacks are common in Quebec, accidents are rarely reported and mechanics don't need to be licensed (I think).

That's the main reason. Half the people in Quebec can't afford to ride any more.

I think I am seeing something incorrectly, but is insurance covered in the registration? or is this the total cost? I used to work with a guy with his bike plated in Quebec, remember him always telling me that it was way cheaper to plate and insure there

You still need private insurance which is lower than Ontario's, yes. However, with the added cost of the plate sticker - not so much. At least not for larger bikes.

From my understanding the gov't portion of insurance covers bodily damage and consequences while private insurance is required to cover property damage.

Now I see why they had brought the Ninja 400 to the Canadian market...its was specifically for Quebec.

those costs INCLUDE insurance.

Public liability is included at that price. Fire, theft, collision, etc. would be extra.

Didn't Quebec also do some goofy stuff with sport bikes requiring specific expensive alarm systems too?

have to be careful with scams from quebec, french being the language of many countries in africa certain people like to advertise vehicles there which dont exist.
autotrader.ca is full of these scams. I know because ive been looking at eurpoean style hatchback cars in quebec, some of them dont make any effort and get a car with a picture of a eurpoean plate only half covered up.

Ive done it before and would do it again, but you have to be extra careful.
