Worth upgrading from a 636 to a 750?

I'm paying the exact same insurance premium as a 750cc and the 636 is hardly faster (if at all?) than a 599. It also feels like a boat when cornering whereas the '08 CBR600rr I rode felt really nimble and easy to throw into the corners.
Never rode a 750 before, not sure what to expect.

Is the power difference very noticeable? And how does the 750 handle?

636 is the 05-06 year. and the gsxr 750 I'm looking into is the 05 - 07, I'd maybe consider the 08 (next gen) too.

Edit: Also what about upgrading to the 675? Since it's in the same insurance bracket.

750 is much heavier and it has no significant power gain - stay with Kawasaki (biased)

It's not "much heavier". It's 394lbs dry vs 359lbs. Riding it you won't even notice the difference.

The 675s are similar in power to the 600s. Better bottom end torque. I've only ridden the 750 at a demo day and didn't feel quite the difference in power and speed but I just chalked it up to my inexperience.

The CBR feels nimbler because its weight distribution is bottom heavy. The GSXR's weight distribution is higher up so it feels heavier when cornering.

I rode my friend's 675R and I would prefer that over the GSXR750 but I don't know how maintenance would be on it. Keep in mind the GSXR's seating position is the least aggressive so it's great for day long rides compared to the other ones.

if you decide to make the switch PM me about your 636, ive got a buddy looking for 1 in black or white.

I have a friend that made the switch to that 750 from the 636 and he loves the 750. I felt the 636 was an underachiever compared to the competing 600's.

Go ride a 750 and decide for yourself

Why is it lately no one can decide what they want?

Because we can't ride anything right now and most of us are just talking about it instead of making decisions.

A late model Kawasaki 636 should not "feel like a boat" when cornering. Get your tires and suspension set up! It makes ALL the difference.

buy a real bike...once you own a 1000cc you would never look at another 600 or 750 again...all they do is make noise(no power) you will have a smile on your face every time your out on your 1000, and you will blow by any 600,750 on the back wheel....and try td home and auto insurance...i pay $750 a year for a gixxer 1000.ive persuaded many of my friends to get 1000s and not one of them ever complained and look at 600s and 750s the same way i do...just my 2 cents

I find that most owners of litre bikes are posers and buy a 1000 strictly for bragging rights. 90% of them are just a bunch of pussies that won't even go 20 over the limit. A 600 or 750 is a lot more fun to ride.

I'd insert sport bike where you said 1000. 99.999% would or can't ever push even a wee 6 to its limits. Then again look around. .. not many places you could even attempt to safely that aren't race tracks

:lmao:

I've found that 1000 is fun as hell to boot around town and on straight roads but once you hit the twisties they lose their fun. Much more fun to rev the **** out of a 600

ive been riding for 40yrs since i was 4....ive raced, did mx,for me the bike is a 1000 nothing less....ive had 600s-gamma500s and have raced many guys on 1000s with my little 600s and 500gammas...but for me theyre boring...ive been on a 1000 since 2001 and am biased.....i agree alot of posers out there...but i have racing in my blood...if you wanna buy a 600 like no other---i have one forsale that has 160hp...that will keep up with any 1000...but i have 20g into the 600 to get it this way...buy a 1000 for 5grand and ride/practise

Yeah, racing from one Tim Horton's to another is a crazy adrenaline rush!
IMO of course, don't want to offend anyone.

Why put $20 G's in a 600? Could have had a nice exotic for that kind of loot.

i have a 30g aprilia my racebike....i have 40g custom chopper...have 20g into a 600 yes!...i live in a very rich neighborhood...my house is paid off...i have a cottage,boat,etc..i have a very good career in healthcare....because i can i guess! sorry
