A Trent Lakes woman is in a Toronto hospital after a motorcycle collision near Dunsford on Wednesday evening.
It happened around 6:30, on County Road 36. OPp say the northbound motorcycle left the road and landed in a ditch.
Ornge tells us the woman, who is in her 50’s, was airlifted to St. Michael’s hospital with critical injuries.
Kawartha Lakes OPP closed a section of County Road 36 between Scotch Line and How’s Road.
It was reopened around 11:30 pm.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

An update on this one; this lady is recovering and is now out of hospital with a way to go yet to complete recovery. She has a neck brace, an arm cast and large pressure bandage on one leg. Just goes to show that it is usually a long recovery period after a bad crash but that at least beats the alternative! She has no memory of what happened and I guess the OPP has not told her what they found from their investigation. She was in an induced coma for a day or two after the accident but is now on the road to recovery.
