First, Happy new year!

Im about to go pick up a motor for a 2006 zx6r tomorrow

I was going to take my trailer down, but i hate driving down the 401 with an empty trailer.

Do you think the motor will fit in a car (back seat or trunk)

i own a 2006 jetta, i'm pretty sure it will fit, but i would love some reassurance before i make the drive.

Thanks!

Bring a tarp or at least some garbage bags along encase you end up having to put it in the back seat

Bring them anyway just in case fluids spill in the trunk.

I would use card board too

Sent from my tablet using my paws

for a sec there I thought you meant will it fit in the engine bay and actually use to run a car....that's all tried and tested with very little success..

Bring wife or girlfriend to hold it up straight, they might as well be useful during the trip.

That's not a good way to start the year...

I once jammed a honda 1.8 motor into the trunk of an early 90's honda civic EG hatch. If that fit there I would put money on the ZX motor fitting in your car.

Also, happy new year.

Very little success you say??? Check out this link, look at UT08 engine info - CBR600 F4i. http://fsaeutoronto.ca/cars/
0-100 km/h: 3.126 sec 3.3g - not bad for a car with very little success, eh?
UT06, same engine: 2.9 sec

no no no..I was with Ryerson SAE team...

I meant road legal...

Radical SR series use hyabusa engines...I know what you are referring to but I meant there's still time for them to get into the "mainstream"

Perhaps it's our attitude of every thing bold and big. I'm sure motorcycle engines would do fine in Europe and Asia

Wow, I never knew there were so many university students here.
Are you part of the team? I want to get involved next semester, are you guys recruiting?

OMG...dude I graduated already :P ...but yes they are always looking for guys. But we get 5000 students in the opening day and they are all like we will build one and drive one and all and by next week only 1 stays back...you can always drop by the basement area (KERR HALL west) and say hi

Thanks for the reassurance boys!

Was also going to bring a rubbermaid tub to put the motor in as well.

I will let you guys know how it turns out.

I have the same car. I throw a tarp in the trunk and use an old tire to cradle the engine to stop it from rolling/bouncing around.

Worked like a charm.

The seller did a great job of prepping the motor by draining all the fluids, and stuffing all the hoses and holes with shop towel.

Fit in a rubber made container in the back seat of my jetta.

Thanks again!
