I just finished the first part of my trip and I'm wondering why there is such a big difference in the speed from my actual speedometer and my gps. Which one would you think would be more accurate?

Its a pretty significant difference. At 119 kmps (on the bike) the gps reads 111 kmps.

gps....speedo will be off slightly

Good god man...your bike went back in time and your speedo went forward in time obviously. Have you never seen back to the future?

AFAIK all motorcycle speedos are a little off. I trust my GPS, but generally I just follow traffic at a comfortable speed.

But bro, at 111km/s you're doing about 399,600km/h!!! That's a little extreme for a weekday

Stupid autocorrect on my phone !! Lol

It's a new bike.

12 o'clock labs speedo healer. Small and affordable. You can set it up with programming or clock it with gps.

This. Even run of the mill GPS units are RETARDED accurate when traveling in a straight line at a constant speed!

GPS. Speedometers are off on almost all vehicles. They always read higher than your actual speed.

111 vs 119 is actually closer than most.

I'm lucky my ride has a speedo that matches my GPS. Only thing is sometimes there's "GPS-Lag" if I accelerate fast and then roll off. GPS wont catch everything.. but at a smooth acceleration or speed its bang on.

GPS.
You can confirm by driving through one of these "YOUR SPEED IS _________" electronic signs when there is no other traffic.
I moved my GPS to my car and did this to find that the GPS is accurate to +/- 1km/h to two signs I tried.
My motorcycle speedo consistently reads 10% over.
My car speedo matches GPS or is maybe 1 or 2% over.

Thanks very much ... and yes I blame autocorrect because I'm too lazy to read over what I typed ... Muhahahah. Just kidding. It was late and I rode about 500km's yesterday.
