I was just wondering what rates you guys are paying and if I can get a better deal than I am getting now. I've been paying the same price since I was 20 so this is my second full year of insurance.

Currently I am 21 y/o
TD MM
$1300/yr
ninja 250
GM

The price didn't really go down on my second year of insurance either..and don't own a car for packaged discount. Is this what I'll be sitting with until I'm 25? Or is there a better priced company out there?!

Thanks for any input.

I'm currently with Statefarm and I'm paying $1250 a year for my Ninja 250

22, clean record and G for 5 years although when I was first insured I only had my G for 4 years. (I think he just put it in the system as 5 or something though) My insurance only went up 5 bucks when I went to renew.

Got quoted for a CBR500r for around 2k a year. Other companies wouldn't even insure me...

Guess I'll have to wait for 25 unless someone on here wants to hook me up with a decent broker.

At 21 with one ticket. G 4 years

TD = $4500 With group discount and discount my family has since we insure home and auto
SF = $1680

For a Ninja 250

I am now 22 with the same ticket (I thought cleared) and paying $2680 for an SV650 with intact :s....

How you guys are getting better rates than me I have no clue. On my SV the ticket did about +$250 and with SF I was told they don't count the first ticket. Perhaps location? But I have just liability...

Anyway I was told by another broker I could get $1400 for my 650 after a year went by, (I stupidly sold my 250 at the 11 month mark after SF, TD and almost every other company I called told me it didn't matter having continous :/)

Needless to say I have no more money left.

Also from what I've heard you will be pretty much stuck until you're 25.

$3500 for a 600SS, liability only.

$7000 for two seasons

$10,500 for three seasons just to ride for 7 months of the year and only when it doesn't rain.

Yay.

Yeah does look like I'm going to be sitting on my 250 until I'm 25..welp i'll give state farm a call when I'm 22 to see how much they'll charge me.

M2 since April 2013
2004 KLX400SR
Age:21
Clean Record
$2840/yr with TD (Liability and Fire & Theft)
(State farm was on par, and was told to try back next year once I turned 22. (Deal for car and bike)

licensed for 6 years
2011 ninja 650
age 23
1 ticket
$1800/yr with TD (Full Coverage)

How.... Am I missing something here? These rates are all over the place. At least in comparison to what I was offered :s

They really are all over the place. It does very from agent to agent. I know a local SF rep quoted me 4k for the 400 while one in Burlington offered for what TD came at me with ($2800). I tried a broker from Intact, but they could only have a "sister" company insure me (M1) at the time and they wanted in excess of $3500.

I know I will be doing a lot more searching this winter as I won't be pressed like I was this season. From the sounds of it, might be worth to comb through the insurance forums and try to get a few agents as they seem to be able to get better/more consistent rates.

23 y/o
2011 CBR250R
GM2, insured on car since I was 16
1 claim, no tickets
$770/yr for liability only. Cheaped out on comprehensive which was an extra $40 a year or something like that. Insurer is The Personal, State Farm gave me a quote of over $300 a month for my car which I quickly declined.

20g1m2
1st year on a gs500f 3700
2nd year on a ex500 2500

insured with TDMM but they're being a ***** and taking forever processing my claim and appraising, etc. so i may be looking elsewhere come feb.

22 G1M clean record
Last quote I got was a hair over $4000 for a CBR 1100XX

For my current VFR it is around $3000.

23yo
GM
2006 zzr600 - $1800/yr
intact

if your looking into getting a sportbike, while not getting killed on rates, I would suggest looking into zzr600s and sv650s as they are considered to be sport touring. Planning to so sell mine soon as I found awesome rates for a harley davidson iron 883 and 1200. MM gave me lower rates for cruiser than anyone else :D
