What's with the pink smoke?

Up at the New Liskeard Bikers Reunion (AKA snooze fest 2012) I saw the smoke from a few burnouts and it was pink.

Appearently they add something to the compound - the tires are still black but the smoke billows out pink.

Is this just for show?

Drifters came out with that a while back. Kumho Ecsta SPT colour is one...

Guess it made it's way to motorcycles...
 
Shinko came out with a tire called smoke bomb, it's supposed to be red smoke but does look pinkish. There are now other colors available also
