Whats up with toronto motorcycle police?

I recall quite a few years ago a cop talking about why HD bikes were preferred over BMW's saying that back then he could push a car off the road with the Harley without doing any damage to the bike, whereas with the BMW (maybe it was Kawasaki) they risked bending or otherwise screwing up forks or frames.
I had a Harley. Not enough HP to push a basket ball down a hill. :p

I owned a full bagger and it was one of the most balanced bike i ever had, reason the cops liked them or one reason was the parking lot speed was very managable, these guys you see duck walking them are guys that mostly never taken a riding course.

Been seeing a LOT more toronto police on motorcycles this year, more than the past 10 years combined I would say....
In the past they were also mostly on old harleys, this year they seem to have all upgraded to fast BMWs

I see them almost everyday now, riding around in large numbers, doing what seem like drills or practice runs on the Gardener/Lakeshore area
Shutting down large sections of the highway for some sort of pre planned practice event

Im all for more riders in the police force, just curious as to whats going on. I dont think it has anything to do with fifa 🤷‍♂️
The replacement for the Snow Birds

My favourite is them wearing minimal safety gear and riding side-by-each cruiser style, rather than staggered. Yes, please, preach to me about road safety!

Yep. Business as usual at Hypocrisy Inc.

And to frighten you even more I see on H-D Canada they`ve now included freight and dealer set up. Takes a Low Rider ST from $29999 to $31599. Add on tax and whatever else they can clip you with...... see ya later.

Makes sense. If I were delusional enough to think buying a new Harley was a good idea, $2,500 more or less on the price tag isn't getting me out of CAMH any faster.

With few exceptions 'round here cops on motorcycles is like cops on horses.
It's theater.
My local police service has an equine unit... I'd love to see the budget numbers on it.
They park their $150,000 trailer rig on a side street and clip-clop through the safest, least crime ridden suburban 'hood so the kids an see them and ask to pet the horse.
Great gig.
