What's my bike worth?

35k on modern i4 is not high if properly maintained. Like Paul said "firm" prices are fine with me, if that price is reasonable. When I sell a bike, if I want $3000, I ask $3500 obo, not $5600! Lol

if it helps at all i bought my stock 11 zx6r with 4k km on it and a light drop on the right side (no cracks just scratches) for 6900 just a couple months ago. realistically with 35k km there will not be as much interest, so if you get lucky you should be able to sell for 5500, otherwise likely for under 5. that being said post it for 5800.

I think your biggest issue will be the fact that it's been painted. Most always an indication of a previous "ouchie".

Yep. that alone is an issue. What does the ownership say the colour is?

Can't remember, I'd have to look later. Owner changed the colour right after buying it. I agree that the white is more handsome than the candy blue.

I'm just curious because sometimes I dream of other bikes but want to figure out if I can afford to switch.

2009 ZX6R
35,000kms, I bought last year with about 10,000km less.
Pearly white, originally blue. White is starting to chip in a few spots on the tank.
Two brothers black shorty slip on
Shorty levers, can't figure the brand
Fender eliminated with integrated signals
Newish Pilot road 2s have about 1500km on them, just road use in the fall last year and about 200km on the road this year.
Been in for scheduled service by Speedworx, stored with Ken over the winter.
Previous owner babied. I've let him down somewhat lol, sorry J. I'm not the most fanatical washer and cleaner in the world.
It's been tipped over once each side from standing and not moving with some scratches to show for it, nothing too serious. Eric checked it out last service and couldn't see anything serious.

So in summary, a well maintained but well used bike with high kms and scratches. What should I list for were I to sell? Assume I would actually wash and polish before showing.
this is how your info translates to me.
new they are $9500 (2013 old inventory, or back in 2012 as someone else mentioned $9300 taxes in... i wish i would have grabbed 1 back then)
youve got high km
aftermarket china plastics that are chipping...big thumbs down.
2bros is probably th cheapest slip on, i think about $300 bux, some guys put it on to hide a damaged OEM pipe.
no name shorty levers are $25-80...usually a sign of a cheap fix IMO
fender elim doesnt really add to the value, on non-undertail exhaust bikes you can make it for about $10, i used my oem CBR plate bracket on my buddies ninja and it worked perfect.
you have newer tires, may make it easier to safety but i wouldnt add to its value much... call it 50% of what they sell for...so $200

not to bash your bike because im sure its still got a lit of life left in it but most likely 5 grand will be what you get for it. your mileage has you at the point that you may need some more expensive services (without seeing your service history and the kawi service requirements) and it being obviously dumped (and cheers for admitting it and not wasting peoples time going to see something that is "mint" ) but you putting up a honest ad will get more serious buyers and closer to what you really want. people get ****** off when they expect to see 1 thing and come up to another... just looked at a CBR for a friend that was suppose to be mint... it was horrid. tires cracking, all aftermarket plastics that didnt line up, scratches all over the swing arm, frame sliders, bar ends, frame... and the guy wanted top $ for it..

IMO if you put bad stickers on it it will scare more people away.

I kinda like the bike so I'm probably keeping it for this summer. I'm just trying to figure out what difference I'll need after selling to get me up to a KTM 690.
I'm mulling over dropping the SS for a bike that's less likely to kill me and has cheaper insurance.
But damn I love riding this thing.
I put 10k on it since end of July last year. I got it mid June, but couldn't ride for the first part of summer due to injury. I'll probably put over 10k on it this year too lol.
I was just curious about price. I'm not defensive about the mods. I've got 3 more in the pipeline. I'll streetfighter it if I wreck the plastics.
Call this thread a trial balloon.
When I do sell, it will be listed for $9500 lol. Cuz it's got TWO BROS YO!!!!!

Posting something "firm" is a questionable strategy since most people expect to bargain and that "firm" price is very subjective more often than not, instead of being a true representation of vehicle's value in a specific market. Words like "firm" and "mint" scare more people away than they attract.
Give yourself that 20% markup to work with and everyone will be happy in the end.

True that most mods do nothing for resale unless you luck out and someone is looking specifically for what you have, which is rare.

Mileage of 30K is not necessarily high but many perceive it as such, since there's a plethora of motorcycles that are almost never ridden. This affects the price or at least the ease of selling it.
Expensive mods are best to part out.

4.5 to 5K depending on condition and quality of the paint job. Typically, 'custom' paint work detracts from the value. Because spring fever is in full tilt, you may get the upper end of the range. As noted above, list it for $5500 to $5800 'obo'.

I've decided a DR-Z400SM is for me for now.
Willing to consider trades. Which direction cash goes if any will have to be discussed.
For example, you have a 2013 with newish (name brand, not shinko) tires and low clicks and I like the Yosh pipe you put on and it's black and running sweet, I'll give something.
Or, you have a 2003 with high clicks and lotsa cracks and needs tires brakes and all that, then you're gonna have to pay.
If you're thinking of listing for 6k but accepting 5.5k, then we're probably close.

Absolutely no rush though, I'm relatively indifferent.

I've put on rearset adapters (back and down, I was feeling cramped, can be removed in literally a few minutes) and tank grips.
I'm mulling putting a stock exhaust back on and selling the beat up 2bros can.
