What was your next bike after a 250? Thoughts/regrets?

gsxr 600.
I dont regretting getting a bigger bike, but if I tried other bikes, this one wouldn't have been my first choice. I'm definitely more cautious with this one, or maybe... more scared. Sometimes I feel like I stopped learning new things because I stopped challenging myself due to fear.
Maybe I just need to get proper leathers and go down once.
Yeah.

Ever heard of the expression "once bitten, twice shy"?
Once you go down you might be more hesitant on trying new things

Once I went went down my first time on a street bike, it made me want to push myself even harder BUT I am more careful in winter weather lol. Hit ice and took a nice spill :P

Ice hurts more?
:P

Yes, I think I'd learn the limit and would realize it's not a big deal if I slide a bit.

'A bit'

I keep asking just that to my girlfriend. :-P

I went from a 250 to a ZX6 on my 3rd year riding. But I might exchange it for something else in a couple of years.

Just picked up a new ZX6R from a 300 after one season. The jump was a lot easier than I thought. I have no regrets and the extra power is great for getting out of bad situations.

yeah I know alot of people will say wow that's a lot for a first bike. For me its not I love it great power and speed fun in the corners scary as **** on the highway lol, mind you I just got my M2 and was testing in on the 400 here in Barrie. Good luck on finding your next bike.

It depends on the rider. A good 600 has better suspension, brakes and handling than a 250 and just slightly more weight. An R6 can make goofy power, but only if you wring it up.

But the quality of 300s is greatly increasing, because this is the highest selling segment and competition is getting fierce with even BMW entering in 2015.

Meanwhile, there is a popular racing series in California where people are deactivating one cylinder on Suzuki 600 4s and racing as triples in a lower displacement class.

1100 cc Magna. It was great for highways.
I'm down to a WeeStrom 650 now, and my next will probably be another 250.

As I've learned to ride more, I've found that I don't need the excess power to do the same things anymore.
