What size bike should I get?

What happens when you downshift too early on a 250? A tail wiggle at most.

What do you think happens on an SS? lol

If you want anyone to take you seriously outside GTAM get a 600+. Anything under 600 has way too small of a rear tire to corner anyways.

I am curious...... what will happen with a early downshift on a SS ???

Are you being serious or joking...? lol The tire size has nothing to do with cornering capabilities.

If you have a slipper clutch and and are lucky, you'll get a fishtail.

Otherwise, it's the same as putting too much rear brake, you low side.

Low side??? I don't know about that I had a 79 xs650 special that I blew the engine on the highway and rode that puppy to a stop with the rear tire locked solid.

Of course it does. A 190 tire has a lot more surface area than a 120. Way more grip.

If you never rode the 250 etc first how can you compare? As far as I'm concerned you are the same type of person muay_thai_dan is talking about...
Benny, Benny, Benny...it would be nice if you read my post. I never said I have not been on a 250cc or a 125cc for that matter. I have ridden both of these with a couple days of seat time on each of them. I just started on a 600cc and I still prefer to ride this bike a year later. Unlike what MT Dan states in his first post...I do get it and I think most 600cc rookie riders do get it. And, as for the type of person I am, well,........LOL.

Well if you've narrowed your choice between a 600 or a 1000, go big or go home.
I can't afford a litre bike and the insurance.....do you have a spare litre bike? I'd love to ride the widow maker since I'm bias towards Kawi myself.

Edit:I guess I'm just taking my 600cc and going home...

If riding a 600 on the street isn't enough go get a track bike. Most can't ride a 600 anywhere near it's capabilities. Nothing against liter bikes. I've ridden several and 750s but a 600 is still more than enough.

And since you never learned on a 250 why are you so easy to dismiss it? Maybe you'd be an even better rider had you started on one.
Benny, I forgot respond to this one..again, read my post that you quoted or for that matter any of my posts over the last year. I have never come on the forum preaching 125cc or 250cc riders are making a poor choice. What I'm calling BS is all the 250cc preachers who come on the forum trying to scare all the new riders into thinking that only a small percentage of riders can start on a 600cc or that you will crash your bike if you start on a 600cc, etc, etc. That is BS. Do you really think its a bunch of 16 year olds jumping on a 600cc bike...no, for the most part they cannot get or afford insurance..you are talking about grown men and women. Why don't you take the time to read some of the comments made by other 600cc riders who decided to start with this bike.

Just joking around..I don't need more than a 600cc on the street...I can't get it out of 3rd gear most of the time anyway. But, I would still love to get a Kawi widow maker one of these days...and the wife seems to like that nickname. lol.
